Rustic AND comfortable :) Nestled in the woods AND close to town. Lovely property with walking trails and scenic spots to enjoy. Within minutes of the Thermal Belt Trail - excellent bike/walk trail. Perfect for couples, nature lovers and small-town enthusiasts.
Spend two nights at this beautiful cabin, property is as described by the host. Hosts put a lot of effort in making their guest feel comfortable, like the touches , nice towels ,, two water bottles and chocolate left at the counter , again thanks ! The trails were nice to explore , I would consider staying again.
Amazing property 😍 the cabin, the trails, the Glass Chapel! So much fun to explore and to get some R&R. We definitely want to come back during the Spring time. Highly recommend!
The Red Roof Cabin was perfect for a weekend anniversary get away. It was private but close enough to town to enjoy the restaurants in Rutherfordton. The cabin was clean and comfy. The host was very communicative and helpful. We enjoyed our stay very much.
My husband and I enjoyed this property more than any other that we have rented recently. The cabin was extremely clean, beautiful nature walks, wineries close by and most importantly, the owner Laura was super to work with!
We would love to return.
We had a very relaxing few days at this adorable cabin in the woods. We loved having coffee on the porch where we could see and hear the creek below. My husband and our dog enjoyed exploring the trails on the property.
Fantastic! Enjoyable, Relaxing Felt like you were secluded in the woods, however you were actually a stones throw away from civilization! Wonderful accommodations!!
No complaints whatsoever...
Highly Recommended!!
This was our third stay at the Preserve at Maple Creek and we will keep coming bac.k!
The occasion was a Celebration of Life and Laura was very accommodating with extra bed linens for our son. We loved sitting out on the porch listening to the gurgling creek
Husband and I had an awesome dose of rest and relaxation! Cabin is clean and quaint. We enjoyed adventuring around the property but also took advantage of spindale for food and downtown shopping in Rutherfordton. We went 4wheeling with Boon Life Adventures and visited the New Beginnings Farm for some cow cuddling. Great visit!
My husband and I enjoyed our two nights stay in the historic Red Roof Cabin in the woods. The cabin was clean & cozy. It was so relaxing sitting on the wrap around porch during a thunderstorm with our furbaby. We saw deer and turkey on our morning walks as well. We highly recommend. <3
I booked this cabin for a solo trip to disconnect and process. I didnt see a single soul near me even on the beautiful trails right off the cabin steps, it was absolutely perfect! The cabin itself was extremely neat and clean, i needed nothing. I will be rebooking in the future!
This was our third stay at Maple Creek Preserve and our second stay in the Red Roof Cabin. The cabin is spotless, very comfortable, and welcoming. My husband and I looked forward to spending our evenings exploring the property, preparing dinner in the well equipped kitchen, and working the puzzles provided by the hosts. We especially enjoyed touring the farmhouse with Laura and learning about the history of the preserve. We've already made our April reservation. Thanks so much for providing such wonderful accommodations, Laura & Steve!
The property was absolutely immaculate. There are trails, picturesque views and sights. The host went out of their way to make us feel at home but to assist in any possible way. If you're looking to unplug and just be in awe of nature, I cannot recommend this place and this host enough. I wish I could bottle the tranquility of this property just so I could take a piece of it home with me.
Beautiful, comfortable little log cabin along a stream. Breathtakingly quiet. Wouldn’t change a thing except the lack of seating on the deck. Stairs to upstairs bedroom are a little challenging but plenty of handholds help. Downtown Rutherfordton is 5 minutes away and Tryon International Equestrian Center an easy 20 min.
Steve and Laura are wonderful hosts. Steve greeted us at the cabin to be sure we had everything we needed and gave us a short history of their property. It is a beautiful setting and very private. We loved the Glass Chapel.
The cabin kitchen is well stocked and the bathroom has a tub! Laura provides such nice touches as toiletries and thick white towels. Even though the highlights are outdoors we loved having wifi and Netflix! Overall this cabin is beautifully decorated and cozy - one we would love to visit again and again. Thank you Laura and Steve!

10/10!!! Easy directions and communication. Beautiful property and grounds, cabin. Had plenty of firewood near the designated fire pit areas, and thoughtful touches. The property was stunning with trails. And the glass chapel and bell tower/chapel were absolutely breathtaking. My family has property in Bostic and we were visiting so was very centrally located. Mountain Brooks Vinyard and Parker Binns are two wineries with gorgeous views are close by, and we are at Babbos Italian kitchen in Forest city just about 20 minutes away. WILL stay here again if available!
The house was clean and charming. We came with our 2 kids (4 and 7) and they loved exploring the house and running around outside in nature.
We used the firepit to roast s'mores and catch lightning bugs at night and we walked the trails in the day to find the really cool chapel and labyrinth.
We had a good lunch at The Copper Penny in Downtown Rutherfordton which is a quick drive. We also explored Lake Lure and Chimney Rock.
It was great to escape the crowds at the end of the day and get back to our quiet cabin.
I didn't see a wine opener so bring one if you like wine. The Wifi and TV reception was extra spotty when it rained but we didn't mind. We played games instead!
We would definitely stay again!
