"Pool and breakfast were great. Room was clean, but we had an "adjoining room" - separated by a lockable door and there was no privacy. The people next door were loud and were in and out all night and did not allow for a good sleep. Let the front desk know at check out and they weren't overly concerned. We had a private shuttle booked for our flight in, as the time didn't coordinate with the free shuttle. We waited at the airport for at least 30 minutes with an attendant having to help call the hotel to find out where the driver is. Very disappointing after a long day of travel. "

"Overall, our stay at Barceló San José was okay. The hotel, rooms, and lobby were clean, and the staff was nice. However, the pool area could use better maintenance since there were a lot of leaves and debris, especially in the kiddie pool. The hotel also feels a bit outdated. Breakfast was just okay — it would be nice to have more variety and international food options for guests from different countries."
