"The staff was very helpful especially for checking on whether places were open and on obtaining a taxi. The rooms lack places to put your clothes and lack suitcases stands so one must plan to use the limited supply of hangars and live out of a suitcase. The showers are handheld so one might instead plan to use the open facilities and hot baths. The food was excellent and help is available everywhere."

"Such a beautiful and peaceful place to stay on the outskirts of Kyoto ... a hidden and perfect respite to escape the busy city action but still close enough to pop in and check out all the amazing places in town. "Having a private bath in the patio was great. Staff was courteous and friendly, the food was excellent, and having three different open air hot spring was a plus. Ideal for solo travelers."

If you can rent a car or afford taxi, you can visit all kinds of amazing places without any crowds."
