The house is well equipped and 10 minutes walk from the famous historic harbour which we were visiting for the first time. The nearest pub is even closer. There is limited parking outside the cottage but plenty of free street parking nearby. As it was, we were lucky and only once could not park near the cottage. There is a dehumidifier in the kitchen. "Very nice hotel, close to the sea, in a nice quiet location. Parking was easy a few spaces on site and plenty of local street parking. My room was well equipped, good shower, comfortable bed, plenty of power and USB charging sockets. Free biscuits and sparkling water in the room. I will stay again next time I'm in Falmouth."

"Excellent, excellent and excellent is what I would like to say about our stay at this wonderful hotel. I have been to Charlestown before but never stayed. We have a medium sized dog (Sid) that we take everywhere with us, we know that most hotels nowadays are dog friendly but here was (in my opinion) above and beyond. There was a lovely doggy bag in our room with two ceramic bowls a rubber mat, dog treats and a tennis ball which Sid loved. All of the staff were first class and couldn’t be more helpful. The room was great with a comfortable mattress and pillows. We ate dinner and breakfast in the hotel and I thought that the food was very good, we had the sirloin steak which was cooked just right and I thought priced well. The breakfast selection was very good and well cooked and presented. Would I stay there again,ABSOLUTELY."

"Just returned from a short but sweet stay at the Great Western Newquay at the beginning of September. Having stayed previously, i generally knew what to expect, although this time it was apparent that the wear and tear of many busy summers had really caught up with the place and it is all in need of a serious refurbishment. The public areas such as the stairwells, corridors and reception areas in particular are like a throwback to decades past. The location is great and has to to be the hotels biggest selling points. There are many rooms that will have sea views, as well as the bar and restaurant areas all having great views too. The hotel is just far enough away from some of the more "lively" parts of Newquay, that if you end up with a road side room at the front of the hotel, theres less chance you'll be disturbed than some other hotels a little further down. It's also close enough to plenty of other eating areas and a short walk to the town centre to not be considered ti be "out of the way" in any shape or form and ofcourse minutes from both Great Western and Tolcarn beaches. Furthermore there is a bus stop directly outside the front of the property with services towards Padstow, Newquay Airport, St Austell and Truro. Additionally, Newquay railway station is just a 2 minute walk over the road as well! We stayed in a sea view room overlooking the Great Western beach. The views are of course delightful. The room itself was very clean and although very dated well kept."
