"My wife and I had a lovely stay in Charlestown at Honeysuckle Cottage for 5 nights. The house is well equipped and 10 minutes walk from the famous historic harbour which we were visiting for the first time. The nearest pub is even closer. There is limited parking outside the cottage but plenty of free street parking nearby. As it was, we were lucky and only once could not park near the cottage. There is a dehumidifier in the kitchen. It should be pointed out that this needs emptying of water...

"Absolutely wonderful stay at this Hotel. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Hotel was so comfortable and clean. Every amenity was provided in the room. I Highly recommend this hotel."

"We have visited and stayed at the Jamaica Inn a number of times over the years but unfortunately this time we were left a bit disappointed. Not with the place or most of the staff themselves but with the entitlement of other visitors and patrons who bring their dogs into the establishment. Nearly all the dog owners were either having their dogs sitting where people need to walk, on long leads so they can roam or not on leads at all so they can roam anywhere. One even had her dog sitting on the seat where other people will then sit. In my opinion staff should keep these dog owners in check as it will likely lead to someone tripping up or getting tripped up by these animals which will end up with serious injury to a person. No dog should be allowed to sit in a seat at a table. One member of staff who was serving food was also petting one dog. The place is nice to visit but for me I’m not in a rush to come back if the place is going to be overrun by inconsiderate dogs owners and staff who are happy to tolerate it."

"The room was unclean and very dirty. Food on the floor, smears on the kettle, and a stained duvet cover and hair on the sheets. They changed my room and the second room was serviced better, but was still dirty. Upholstery is stained, carpets are stained and not recently vacuumed. But since the sheets and towels were clean I stayed one night. It was the same with the hallway and staircases - heavily stained stained and unvacuumed carpets in the stairwells. Stained surfaces on wallpaper, kettles, etc."

"I stayed here for 1 night only with my mom. The overall maintenance of the hotel needs sprucing up, it is very shabby in areas. The breakfast room was lovely, no complaints here. The room we stayed in could do with a bit of TLC, the curtain lining was all torn, the walls needed painting and the draws in the dresser won't open unless you open the wardrobe door first. I called about 3 days before our stay to check everything was ok and ask a few questions - one was about electric car charging. I was told it was a first come first serve and I couldn't reserve a space. When we arrived the 2 electric spaces were occupied, one car charging but the other wasn't even an electric car! I asked at reception if they could find out who it was and ask them to move and I was again told no, and they let people park in them if they need to due to mobility issues. If I had tried to park in a disabled bay not being disabled I'm sure this wouldn't be allowed. When we arrived back after being out all day both cars were still there but this time neither were being charged. I called the night manager on the phone who was going to see if he could find out who's cars they were and that in fact you can reserve the spaces! The following morning the receptionist that was on was helpful and once the one space became available she reserved the space for me. I was very disappointed with breakfast too - the bacon was terrible. The hotel wasn't cheap and I expected a better standard."
