"The decor was authentically Victorian and charming. Lounging area on first floor was huge and comfortable consisting of multiple rooms and fireplaces and comfy seating. It was extra festive during the holidays with lovely decorations including an operating train set and village. Very unique hotel "

"Excellent location with Los Alamos Park, Painted Ladies, Golden Gate Park and great restaurants a short stroll away. Staff great, very safe and friendly vibe. Room was very tiny so if you are wanting to work remotely, there is no desk. Definitely would stay here again! "

"I have stayed here for 20 years, it was The Opal and it has been gorgeously remodeled but has all the things I love before. In and out enclosed parking, Mel’s Diner attached so food mostly anytime, comfortable beds👍, conveniently located at Van Ness and Geary Street so Ubers and cabs etc are easy. Tommy’s Joint an SF favorite for great food, beer and cocktails across the street. And a big movie theater practically next door. Very reasonable price for how nice it is now."

"Staff was great, pool was heated. It was raining so we didn’t partake, but the ambiance was so cool and eclectic. Staff was great and let us leave the car in the parking lot while we went out for an amazing breakfast down the street (Brenda’s soul food… also most excellent!) we walked to the Great American Music Hall for a show. Everything was easy. "
