"This is a hidden gem! Patrick welcomes you warmly and makes you feel right at home. The rooms are beautiful and spacious. The quiet and beauty of the gardens adds to the pleasure. "This is a very special hotel. The staff went above and beyond, the restaurant was fabulous, our room was beautiful and the grounds are spectacular, surrounded by vineyards. There is a pond with ducks and two beautiful swans who walk around the property. We arranged in advance for a picnic and had a lovely lunch on a blanket with an incredible view of the hotel, the vineyards, and of course, the swans. The pool, sauna and steam were also terrific. We rented a car in Bordeaux, and spent three nights at. Grand Barrail, exploring St. Emilion and only a few of the 800 wineries, dining at excellent restaurants recommended by the hotel. It is centrally located with easy access to the St. Emilion area. "
