We stayed for two nights. It was so peaceful and being next to the river was special and able to light up the fire was great. We were warm and kitchen was a good size. Lot of snow shoeing trail and hot springs around as well
Overall a great little retreat that was a short drive to the Monarch Ski Resort. It would have been nice to have a coffee maker and a hair dryer though. It was right on the river and the setting was so peaceful The fireplace was nice in the evenings as well. I would stay here again.
Beautiful location with an incredible amount of things to do. The only issue was the smell. One expects a musty cabin smell but this was different and far worse.
Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Check-in was smooth, cabin was so great, comfy and cozy. Being so close to the river was such a dream, we heard it all night long with the windows open. We truly couldn't have asked for a better stop along our road trip. We plan to visit for a longer stay in the future.
Honestly I would pass if I were you. The cabin is very outdated, has old carpet flooring, squeaky uncomfortable beds, and an old kitchen. If you plan on cooking anything besides breakfast u wouldn’t bother. The oven is so old, the burners had to be lit by a lighter, and the pans are extremely old and outdated. We tried to cook one nice meal and it wasn’t worth it. I was between this place and a spot in salida and I wish I picked salida. Unless you want an extremely rustic spot, you can find better elsewhere for a great price. It would also be extremely tight with more than 2 people. Good location to monarch I will say, and the fireplace was nice. Also the WiFi is pretty non existant and we had very limited cell service. Will be staying in Salida next time.
This cabin was the perfect simple rustic cozy experience to enjoy the river, close to Salida but far enough away from everything to feel like a true getaway. The property owners were on sight and super kind. We had everything we needed and would 10/10 stay again.
