Villa Desiré

Villa Desire is a gorgeous villa perched on the hillside over the gulf of Salo, with stunning lake views. The villa has a large private pool (11m x 6m) immersed in a 7000 sqm private park of olive groves, meadows and woods. The villa was designed to enjoy the view of the Gulf of Salò, has a large living room with high wooden ceilings and windows with breathtaking views, three of the bedrooms have windows with lake views, new swimming pool surrounded by a well-kept garden. The villa has been completely renovated recently and has new systems and accessories, new bathrooms, a new kitchen, air conditioning in the main floor bedrooms and beautiful antiques selected in combination with modern comfort.

Bedrooms: Sleeps 13 in 5 bedrooms: On the main floor the bedrooms have air conditioning, a magnificent lake view, direct access to the terrace and garden, there are two double bedrooms and a family room with a double bed and a bunk bed, on the lower floor a double bedroom and a bedroom with a double bed and a single bunk bed.
Bathrooms: 3 bathrooms, new and with high quality finishes. On the main floor two bathrooms with wonderful and spacious showers with marble coverings and glass doors. Third bathroom on the lower floor complete with shower stall also for laundry use because it is equipped with a washing machine, iron and ironing board.
Kitchen: Large new kitchen with all major and minor appliances, including fireplace, dishwasher, microwave, toaster and Nespresso coffee machine. Kitchen table seats 8-10.
Indoor dining / lounge area: Large dining room and a lounge area surrounded by panoramic windows. The dining area has space for up to 10 people, Chesterfield sofas and armchairs for 7-8 people. The ceilings are high with exposed fine wood paneling, antique piano and valuable period objects.
Outdoor dining: The panoramic terrace communicating with the living room furnished with an outdoor dining table for 12 people with a splendid lake view. In the garden barbecue area with gazebo with table for 10.
Pool: Private pool, 11x6m, fully furnished with deck chairs, sun loungers and umbrellas. Pool fenced for child safety.
Garden: 7000 sqm garden with olive grove, woods and breathtaking views, fenced and suitable for pets. Covered gazebo dining area and barbecue.

The villa is located within walking distance of the supermarket, shops, restaurants and bars, etc. (800-1000m), adjacent to a beautiful public park and playground, and just 1.5 km from the center of Salò. A wonderful place for a vacation, Salò is the perfect balance between a small village and a city. It has quaint cobblestone streets and beautiful old world architecture, with everything within walking distance. And it also has all the amenities and entertainment you would expect in a city, including a theater, museum, historical attractions, restaurants, bars, shops and super-markets and more. Its lakeside promenade is claimed to be the longest in Italy, and you can walk along the lake with beaches on one side and cafes, restaurants, bars and delightful little shops.

Great stay, fine house

You’ll need a car to visit Salo (which is a very cute town) but the location of the house is fantastic, with a great view. The villa is also well kept, well equipped and has a nice pool. We also appreciated the grocery shopping service and the nice welcome gift (fantastic local oil and wine). Would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful & well equiped villa

Villa Desire is beautiful - stunning views, really well equipped, very clean. It is bright and airy. The pool is large with very comfortable sunloungers. The location is quiet and well maintained. We had a fantastic week. You do however need a car - it is a brisk 30 min walk to Salo, along busy roads, and hills! We had teenagers with us, and they would have preferred somewhere closer to the town. However, if you are looking for a relaxing week in a gorgeous villa, with stunning views, this is for you. Nothing.

Villa Desire was perfect for our family group.

The view from the villa is breathtaking. There are several nicely furnished areas to take full advantage of the view. The pool & its surroundings are in sun most of the day. The water was too cold for most of us, it being late October. We'll have to come back in the summer. The villa was very well equipped and we enjoyed all breakfasting in the kitchen & having evening meals in the dining room /lounge. The Garda Holidays staff were delightful to deal with... very helpful & accommodating. The owner of the villa came very promptly to sort out a small problem with the gas supply. Thank you, all, for a lovely holiday!

Lage Lage Lage... Pool Pool Pool...

Am Pool zu liegen unter schattigen Olivenbäumen mit Blick runter auf Salo ist unbeschreiblich und kann nicht auf Bildern wiedergegeben werden. Das ist das ganz große Plus. Dazu ein fantastischer sehr großer Pool mit Außendusche. Dieser Bereich ist nicht zu toppen, zumal das Grundstück hinter der Liegewiese stark abfällt und somit kein Zaun den Blick stört. Man "schwebt" über Salo. In Salo selbst ist man mit dem Auto in 10 Minuten ohne viel Serpentinen, sodass den Beifahrern auch nicht schlecht wird. Supermärkte sind nur 5 Minuten entfernt. Für unseren großen Hund war es perfekt. Keine Nachbarn, kein Stress. Und schließlich die liebe Novella! Sie ist nicht nur eine ganz liebe Person, sondern löst jedes Problem sofort und ist absolut professionell besser kann man es nicht machen. Das Haus ist einfach in die Jahre gekommen. Viel Charme, großzügig geschnitten, aber eben auch etwas älter. Die untere Etage fällt leider deutlich vom Niveau ab, besser man benötigt nur die drei oberen Schlafräume. Die Bausubstanz ist allerdings erstaunlich gut, gebaut für die Ewigkeit. Vor dem Küchenfenster wäre eine kleine Markise toll, denn dort wird es sehr warm. Trotzdem selbstverständlich 5 Sterne.

7 Erwachsene und 4 Kinder haben die Ferien genossen. Das Haus ist wunderbar gelegen und sehr gut ausgestattet. Man braucht wirklich nichts mitzunehmen. Nespresso-Maschine, Kindersitz, Kinderspielsachen, genügend Geschirr und Küchenutensilien, alles ist vorhanden. Besonderes Highlight waren der Pool und die grosse Terrasse mit der herrlichen Aussicht.

wunderschöne Herbstwoche

Wir, 10 Personen aus 3 Familien, hatten, wie schon letztes Jahr, auf diesem herrlichen Anwesen eine Woche der Oktoberferien verbracht. Besonders erwähnenswert ist das Frühstück auf der Terrasse mit dem grandiosen Blick über die Bucht von Salò. Diesen hat man übrigens auch vom noch im Oktober gut nutzbaren Pool und von da sogar bis zum Torre di San Martino. Und wenn's etwas frischer ist, läßt es sich im nahezu mondänen Wohn-, Eß- und Musikzimmer hervorragend klönen. Vielen Dank!

Traumhafte Lage

Die Villa hat eine traumhafte Lage mit Blick auf Salo und den Gardasee. Sehr schön sind die verschiedenen Sitzplätze auf dem Grundstück und der große Pool. Die Küche ist gut ausgestattet. Alles in allem ein wundervoller Platz, um Urlaub zu machen. Unteres Bad renovieren und eine Sauna einbauen.

Beautiful House with astonishing view over Salo

Much space for a big family in a well equipped villa. The pool with the garden and the view over Salo is the highlight. We enjoyed the terrace during all the day. The center of Salo can be reached by walking in 45 minutes. We did several biking tours through the Valtenesi. Salo is a beautiful town with a lot of shops,cafes and restaurants at the lakeside. Disturbing: the street right under the house and the sleeping rooms in the basement (dark)

Wonderful villa overlooking the Garda Lake

We found the Villa Desire is exactly as marvelous as described in the FeWoDirect announcement. We have been pleased about its wonderful location overlooking the Garda Lake and its generous and clean facility. Upon arrival, we were welcomed very friendly by Novella showing us the house and explaining its functioning. She also responded promptly and kindly to our special requests. We have been enjoying our unforgettable two weeks family holidays when relaxing in the garden, cooking in the large kitchen, barbecueing fish, meat and vegetables outdoor, eating on the balcony, swimming in the pool, playing table tennis, riding on the two offered bicycles to the lake, making a boat tour to Garda and Bardolino, using our rubber boat for a swim on the lake, making some excursions into the mountains with a swim in the Lago d‘Idro, hiking by the Lago di Valvestino, shopping in the Intermarché (open 24 hrs). Saló offers lots of nice restaurants, bars and shops. Our visit to Verona including the pre-booked opera of AIDA in the arena were the highlight of our holidays. The only two drawbacks concern (a) the pool pump that stopped once from working and caused a deterioration of the water quality, hence ear infection with two children, and (b) the dish washer did not clean properly, because the flushing arm was calcified (discovered only at the end). Therefore, we had to wash the dishes by hand. Nevertheless, we spent a great time and we do recommend this wonderful villa to families with children.

Huset är stort, fräscht och välskött. Det har alla bekvämligheter. Läget och utsikten är magisk. Vi fick inte nog av den att titta ut över bergen, byn och sjön. Servicen och bemötandet var proffsigt. Vi är så oerhört nöjda. Besök denna underbara plats!!!

Excellent Villa for a large group

The villa was excellent quality and everybody seemed to enjoy the 60th birthday celebrations, Catherine & Novella who manage the property were really good and helpful and quick to respond. We had all the utensils, furniture and outside kit for the 12 + 3 month old and they were in good condition. One or two minor niggles such as one of the bedrooms slept 4 which was a bit awkward with 12. We were inundated with ants in the bedrooms but there isn't a lot you can do about it, Grounds were a bit untidy with long grass but didn't notice really until we left on the Friday and they strimmed it all which made it look a lot better, Pity it hadn't been done for our week. Finally it is quite remote and the description doesn't really prepare you for the distance you walk to the lake or more importantly how steep it is to come back up. We had mature people who found it difficult and had to have a taxi back.
