  • Welcome to Our San Francisco Home!

    Come enjoy San Francisco from our bright, sunny and comfortable home in the charming neighborhood of West Portal. Our home comfortably sleeps four plus ( a twin blow up mattress is available upon request) and is a wonderful place to relax after a day of exploring the city.

    West Portal has a true neighborhood feel, with wonderful restaurants, coffee shops, local stores, and bars—all within an easy walk from the house. It’s a great place to experience a quieter side of San Francisco while still being close to all the city’s famous attractions.

    An Easy Place to Explore the City

    Our location makes getting around San Francisco especially convenient. We are just one block from the West Portal Muni Station, where you can catch the K, L or M trains and head into downtown and the waterfront.

    Spend the day exploring Pier 39, Fisherman’s Wharf, Alcatraz, Union Square or Oracle Park, or hop on one of San Francisco’s famous Cable Cars. When you’re ready to slow down, come back to West Portal and enjoy dinner at one of the many nearby restaurants.

Good location. Parking on driveway is extremely useful. We drove,but took rideshare during the day. If it's your first time visiting,don't bother with public transport and driving. This place is a 15 min ride away from all major attractions. There is a wholefoods nearby with ample parking. We didn't cook since there are many food options. This place is charming and cleaning. Lots charming decoration pieces.

What a fantastic place to stay! This charming, beautifully maintained home is in the perfect location, with public transportation and so many great restaurants just a short walk away.We are especially grateful to our incredible host. Communication was lightning-fast, every detail was thoughtfully handled, and their kindness and hospitality truly went above and beyond. They made us feel so welcome from start to finish.Thank you for helping make our San Francisco family trip such a special and unforgettable memory. Perfectly located for a stay in the city. The neighborhood is lovely and steps away from great restaurants, shopping, and gourmet food stores. The train to downtown, beach, zoo is around the corner so you get the best of both worlds, a safe vibrant neighborhood to give you the feel of living in the city and access to all of the city has to offer. Parking at house is easy if you decide to have a car. Home is warm and inviting, beds are comfortable and kitchen is charming and perfectly appointed. Owner is welcoming, responsive when needed, and a wonderful host. Highly recommend a stay here.

Debra is an excellent host. She was appropriately communicative and available for anything we needed. Her home is clean, quiet, beautifully decorated, and comfortable - exactly what we needed. It is in a great part of the city plus right down the street from a muni stop so easy to get anywhere you want to go. I highly recommend Debra's home and would stay here again.

no dishwasher. it says so in the listing, but i sure didn't notice it :)there is a Muni station about 200 feet down the street, very convenient for going into downtown.across the street is an elementary school and next door is a day care. not bad for noise, but if you try to take a nap about 2pm the cars picking up kids will keep you from sleeping.shops and restaurants are close by (220 feet down the street). there is a safeway for groceries about 1/2 mile away.

Wonderful time in San Fran

Debra was great with communication…upfront, checking in during our stay and at the end. Home is in a great neighborhood within walking distance to public transit and a cute stretch of shops and restaurants. We also loved the easy parking. Home was well stocked and comfy beds. Had a great stay!

Wonderful place in a cute neighborhood

Deb’s place was perfect for my family and I when we came to San Francisco to visit my parents. The home was lovely, comfortable, and neat - a real home away from home. The neighborhood was cute and walkable with local shops and delicious restaurants. Deb was a great host and very responsive. We would definitely stay here again!

Great location, lovely home

My daughter and I had a great trip to SF and this home was just right for us! Great location for picking up local transit, restaurants and stores close too. Loved that there was an assigned parking spot so we didn’t have to move the car! Lovely home, comfy beds, well equipped and clean! And great communication with the owner! Definitely a great place to stay!

Excellent Property

This property was perfect in every way, the host was so kind, nothing was a problem and was so responsive. The location is perfect close to restaurants and bars, the house is so clean, has everything that you need to dine in, beds were so comfortable, has plenty of street parking I would highly recommend this property to anyone. Nice place to stay in SF!

Unfortunately I was in San Francisco for a surgery at UCSF. I was there for one night and my family stayed on for five days. The house is very comfortable and fully equipped. It's in a great neighborhood and it has parking which is a major plus! Debra was a wonderful host. And if you are going to UCSF for any reason, it's very convenient.

Fabulous Location

West Portal is a wonderful communitythe house is in a colorful 1920’s neighborhood with trees & plants. Loved hearing the children at the school across the street with lovely birds singing their songs. The bed was comfy & there were plenty of hangers & drawers to unpack. The towels were nice & the shower was great with a rainfall head. We easily took the train into the city several times with the station being minutes away. Deb is a great communicator & a lovely host

This was a perfect property for us to stay at while visiting San Francisco. The house was easy to find, on a quiet street, very comfortable beds, and has everything you need for your stay. The Muni stop at West portal is a short walk down the hill and takes you into downtown in 15 minutes. The town of West Portal is also a gem for those looking for a home base to explore the city or get away from the conference you’re attending downtown. We ate a different restaurant every night and they were all excellent. Our host Deb was amazing! Very communicative. Very helpful. I really appreciate everything you did for us. Thanks.

Exceptional Stay close to UCSF

Our stay at this VRBO was exceptional. The location couldn't have been more perfect, especially for us needing proximity to UCSF. The neighborhood felt safe and welcoming, providing peace of mind throughout our stay. Of course, the comfortable beds and convenient parking were still standout features that enhanced our overall experience. But the added bonus of being within walking distance of charming shops and cafes truly made this VRBO a hidden gem. Very comfortable

West Portal, where this super comfortable home is located, is a part of San Francisco that, though I'd worked in the City and visited countless times, I was unaware of. The area has everything for a base to explore the Bay Area. Walk to half a dozen good restaurants, solid public transport options, dynamic (sometimes a lotta fog) weather, and parks nearby. There's not much traffic and the neighborhood feel is authentic. The home has pretty much anything you'd need, fully equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, spacious living room and dining area. Super quiet at night. Book this home and you won't be disappointed (and I'm picky!).

Quiet and comfortable place to stay

This is a very lovely home with plenty of space. I needed a quiet and comfortable place to stay in the city for many days. The house is an older well-cared for, classic home with wood floors and accents. It is well appointed with comfortable furnishings and tasteful decorations, and comfortable beds. There are plenty of windows with lots of light and views to the hills and even the ocean and sunset when it is clear. The kitchen had everything we needed with more than enough dishes and utensils. The neighborhood is quiet and tucked away in the hills of the city, it was a great place for easy walks and always felt safe. Plenty of shops and stores in walking distance. Transportation light rail and muni is nearby in walking distance. The owner was a good and responsive communicator and very helpful to my specific needs. It was all i had hoped for. I would definitely stay here again, no hesitation at all.
