Friday Harbor House

Friday Harbor House

8/10 Good
"Excellent views over the harbor and nice menu with delicious pancakes However as with many restaurants the service was not good. Why aren’t wait staff trained to come back after a minute to see if they need anything or if everything is ok? Why don’t they come around and fill up water and coffee? Earn your 20%. Tips are not guaranteed they are for excellent service."

Bird Rock Hotel

"Very cute old hotel 2 blocks from ferry. No AC in our room but we didn’t need it with open windows and ceiling fan! Having no staff there wasn’t a problem and they have dishes and a microwave in the lobby for making oatmeal or heating up leftovers. They set out lemonade and cookies in the afternoon. The only thing that I would suggest thats missing to have in the lobby would be a water cooler/filter refillable station. PARKING: We parked for the day up about 2 blocks in the 10 hr lot, then around 4 or 5, we’d bring it back down to street parking in the evening and in the am, take the car back to the free 10 hr lot not far away."

"We stayed in the Middleton Suite. It was larger than we expected and included a well-appointed kitchen and dining area. The gas woodstove in the sitting area was a nice touch and warmed us on a chilly morning. Overall, very comfortable for an overnight stay!"
