"Lovely place, one of the nicest places I've stayed in in Spain. Very large, clean and comfortable rooms. Staff were friendly and helpful. Excellent location. If I had any complaint it is that the service in the restaurant is very slow (but I think it was because there wasn't *enough* staff; what staff they had were excellent). I know from decades of experience how service works in Spain (and I LIKE their style); this wasn't it; they had 2-3 waitstaff for a completely full restaurant (~30 tables) with a line waiting to get in. Last but not least, I really enjoyed the "restoration of a palace" design choice; they left the timber ceilings as well as sections of medieval and Renaissance stone and brick exposed, a very nice touch."

"This was a great relaxing property, a bit out of central Madrid. We stayed here at the end of our trip to Spain, when we were ready for more relaxation and less city bustle. The small pool was great for our kids, the hiking trail near the house is beautiful ( walk to the dam…it is amazing!). The host family was lovely and accommodating, offering us pickup from the train station when we arrived without a car, though we declined. Cavity/uber rides were mostly convenient and under 40 euro to get to and from the property to central Madrid. While there were public tansit options, we did not opt for those. It felt like staying with friends or family than staying at a hotel or Bnb. Highly recommend!"
