This is an absolutely amazing boutique hotel. It is beautiful and right on the lake. We stayed in a suite with a balcony with incredible views. It is also very close to the park/nature reserve which was great. It is close to the dock to catch the boats to the other towns on the lake as well. We enjoyed the spa’s sauna and cold plunge and the food at the restaurant was very good. The staff was always helpful and friendly. We loved San Marcos and this hotel and would definitely stay here again.

beautiful room. i stayed in the suite. i didn’t know the tree in the room was real. there were a few spiders. the bed was comfortable. sink water had a little smell to it. same as the toilet but they provided you was drinkable water. the food was good at the restaurant

Absolutely loved staying here! The view was unreal, the pool and spa were nice and relaxing, and the food/drinks were great. I fell in love with Lake Atitlan and would stay at Kula Maya for every returning visit.

I dont even know where to start this was a 10/10 experience from the staff to the views. Such a beautiful place the staff was so nice and helpful even when I was leaving someone walked me all the way to the lancha and carried my luggage. The hotel looks 10 times better in person. And the views are surreal make sure you wake up early to catch the sunrise!

Would recommend to all! Gorgeous hotel. The outdoor bathroom was the highlight for me. Jacuzzi and pool overlooking the lake and views of the volcano were breathtaking. Close to the docks. Staff was very helpful.

Very attractive location and kind staff BUT….little privacy as the drapes were too narrow, quite noisy, towels didn’t feel fresh and worst of all all used toilet paper and female products had to be put in an open container near the toilet. Totally disgusting

10/10 Hotel staff was very polite and accommodating to our needs. The restaurant has really breakfast options ( I recommend the mojito, breakfast plater, and coffee options). You will be stunned by the breathtaking views of the lake and mountains).

We had the most amazing stay at this property! The hotel was insanely beautiful and very well kept. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of, and accommodated every request we had. Truly have never been so impressed by a hotel. 1000% recommend staying here if you are traveling to Lake Atitlan/San Marcos. They can even help arrange private transfers for you to eliminate stress. I will definitely be back in the future, not one bad thing to say about this hotel!!! Huge thank you to the staff- you truly made this a memorable stay for us!

Very nice hotel is in a convenient location in San Marcos close enough to the main road and the public dock. Solid restaurant and good customer service. Meals were good if not great. Scenic view of the lake. They did a nice job putting together transportation and activities for our visit. Just be aware that because it is in town you may hear some sounds like music and dogs close to bedtime but never after 10pm. I would stay again.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. We went without power for one night due to storms but that was not the hotels fault. There also was a ton of ants and spiders in the bathroom but as it is basically outside that came expected. If you are staying in the dome, be prepared to hear everything that is going on outside till at least 10 at night

This property is gorgeous and has restaurant and spa amenities. The view of the mountain is stunning. This property doesn’t have AC but a portable fan is included and you can open up the windows and doors to feel the breeze off the lake. I would recommend staying here. The staff is very nice and accommodating.

Hotel restaurant exceeded expectations and the massage at the spa was fantastic. However, we had an ant problem at one point in our bathroom and the front desk isn't 24 hour. Front desk could have been more helpful with giving recommendations and information (for example, one of their restaurant recs was closed on Sundays and they didn't tell us that). The noise from the bar next door was extremely loud until 10pm each day. Pool and hot tub were nice. It was great to have someone come meet us at the dock and get our luggage upon arrival to San Marcos.
