"Very noisy rooms on the first floor near the pool. Noise from restrooms, restaurant, and pool area. Non-guests can buy day passes, making it crowded during the day. Pool not very clean."

"The property is excellent. The host Laura and the manager Levin went above and beyond to help us. We really appreciate their flexibility and help in our late arrival and check out as well. The only thing I would say is that the hike up to the house from the church is a challenge. They have clearly stated that but what I was not ready for was the unclean and unhygienic conditions of the path to the house - there is sewage and trash everywhere - if you can ignore that it was all great."

"This was our second stay at Casa Palopo. Although the rooms are wonderful and the property is gorgeous, it is a little tough to get around with so many stairs and no railings in sight. We like to hike, and unfortunately, this property is not conducive to that; the road is too busy to take your life in your hands, and the property itself has nothing. No one showed us the pools or gave us an orientation; we had stayed before, but things have been added such as the restaurant at the lake. We could see paddleboards at the pier, but had no idea if guests could use them or any other lake goodies. No tours are offered, and the "birding" there consists of offering you a pair of binoculars. The food was great and the people who work there all wonderful."

"The place is basic, with a bathroom with very low water pressure, noisy at times, great view of the volcanoes and Lake Atitlan from the terrace, convenient walking distance to the lanchas piers, some good restaurants and tiendas, tourist-oriented shops, and yes, from the Panajachel river paragliding departure and landing facilities. The breakfast selection was really basic, either chapin or American, with anything extra like orange juice for an extra fee. One morning we had to wait way past 30 minutes to order. When we complained they informed us there was a group who made reservations ahead of us who needed to be served first. The pool we never used because they told us the water was very cold, yet one evening there was a group of young people enjoying it without complaining. We all loved Paco, the welcoming happy parrot kept in the lobby."

"Beautiful oasis just steps from the lively downtown Panajchel. The thermal pool is very relaxing and the waterfall was fun to walk through to cool off. Our room was very large and comfortable with a nice sitting area outside the room. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The entire property is very clean and we felt extremely safe."
