We have had the best five day stay at the hotel. The reception staff are simply amazing they even gave us a welcome drink upon arrival, told us everything we needed to know about the hotel and surrounding area. They have been so helpful, informative and generous, nothing was too much trouble. Sofia in particular helping us with our car hire needs.
We've made amazing memories and it was so lovely to return to this haven after a long walk a welcoming place in a fabulous area.
Honestly we have loved everything from our truly scrumptious breakfast which catered for everyone. From fresh warm bread to stunning fruit, fresh croissants and warm food. Freshly squeezed juice. All the staff from the cleaner to reception were just so kind and caring.
We would not hesitate to return.

The staff was great but we did not receive an upgrade and the EUR 16 discount was only if you stayed for 4 nights. The room was a standard room without a proper door to the bathroom (glass and curtain) and no outdoor lights. Expedia over promise with their premium benefits but the only benefit was a free drink!

The location is excellent for both the town and restaurants around the Lido area. Everything went well and we enjoyed the hotel. After 5 visits to Funchal over the last 5 years it was probably the best that we have stayed at. The hotel is quite old, but well maintained. It is starting to show its age, with small defects, that didn’t affect the stay but are noticeable. The room had a kitchenette which was very useful.

food options were great although would have been even better if the alacarte restaurants were open for more days in the week. Only downside was that the rooms weren't always cleaned to a high standard e.g. noticed a bug or two and stains on the sheets.
