Villa Margalida was lovingly renovated by its owners in 2016 to combine traditional Mallorcan character with all the comforts of modern living. Set on its own private grounds and surrounded by unspoiled Mallorcan countryside, Villa Margalida is an oasis of tranquility, yet is only a 10-minute drive from the market town of Santa Margalida and 10 minutes from some of the island’s most spectacular natural beaches, Son Serra de Marina and Son Real. The lively beach resort of Alcudia is 30 minutes to the north, and tranquil Arta is 20 minutes to the east.


The villa is laid out over two floors with a stunning double-height entrance hall, providing a wonderful sense of light and space, as well as sleek, underfloor-heated polished concrete floors throughout.

On the ground floor is a fully equipped kitchen that opens onto an indoor-outdoor area, featuring a dining table and glass doors that open fully, providing a breeze for summer dining or a cosy spot for sunny winter days. The dining area overlooks the beautiful, mature, terraced garden with its variety of sunny and shaded seating areas and generously sized swimming pool. The adjoining sitting room, complete with a sound system, overhead projector, and a custom-designed concrete sofa, is perfect for relaxing and watching films. And for the winter, there is a fire pit, which makes the room cosy when it’s cold outside.

The downstairs bedroom suite is a double/twin bedroom with access to the garden via its own side patio door; it also has its own shower room decorated with locally made Huguet cement tiles, plus cast stone sinks and cement walls. Beautiful tiles and stone sinks feature in all the bathrooms. On the ground floor, there is another shower/wet room (which doubles as an utility area with a washing machine and storage space).

Upstairs is the spectacular master bedroom with an en suite bathroom and access to a full-length terrace offering uninterrupted views of the Serres de Llevant mountains and sea views towards the Bay of Alcudia. The upper floor features two beautiful double bedrooms, a cosy TV/playroom, and an additional bathroom. All bedrooms have air conditioning and splendid views of the surrounding landscape.

INTERNET
As with many rural homes in Mallorca, internet speeds can sometimes be a bit slow, but they’re usually fine for streaming films in high definition.

WATER PRESSURE
The water supply comes from a well and is pressurized by an electric pump. There is therefore a delay after the faucet is turned on. After a few seconds, the pressure is very good.
Hot water is solar-powered with an electric backup, and on sunny days, care should be taken as it can get very hot. When first turned on, it can take a minute or two for the hot water to reach the faucet. Please be patient. This is a rural home but offers all the comforts.
