"The hotel was nice and the staff was great. The location not so much. Busy port with cranes and ferries. And off in the distance an oil refinery. Not what I expected. "

"It was fun staying at this beautiful house with its wonderful views of the Aeolian islands from the various porches. The proprietors were great hosts. If you want to get in your exercise, you can climb the steep mountain road in back of the house and while you're at it, get a chorus of dogs barking along the way. "Staff were unfriendly and used one of the seating areas as a smoking area although my kids were sat there. I discovered this later and was very cross about this as they just smoked over my kids. Shower was very loud and faulty. The driver was fantastic who picked us up from the port and extremely kind. The pool area is very nice which was the best bit.
