We had a nice room but it was in a separate block quite some way from the main hotel, just as well it was not raining whilst we stayed there. It was a bit confusing to find at first you have to drive round to block to get to the carpark and then our keys didn't work.The room (self catering) was well appointed but we could not use the balcony due to the weather and even in the summer the outlook was not great - a car park a road and a school. The main hotel was ok but the public areas are quite modest and the bar is effectively in a corridor so not a great place to sit and relax. Also the main restaurant is small and we had to sit outside for breakfast the second day. We did eat there in the evening and the meals and service was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful throughput.

Hotel is not a hotel but a room for the night. You get a token to present to one of two cafe for a coffee and pastry in the morning which is the free breakfast. The reception is always closed, even at the announced opening times which is inconvenient. It’s rather basic. However it in a great location ...

Excellent location. Walk a block to restaurants and cafes. Mid 1800's homepage extensively renovated and keeping original walls. Nice fresh breakfast. Very hospitable host. I would definateky recommend this place.
