The island is now a haven for peace and quiet, but this wasn’t always the case. It was a major volcanic eruption that formed the moon-shaped basin that makes up the island of Santorini, 3,600 years ago. The island was shaken again by a severe earthquake in 1956, which lead to the destruction of many ancient buildings. During the subsequent reconstruction, however, the style of the original architecture was closely followed to ensure the island didn’t lose its unique character.
Fira is the capital of Santorini, a major cruise port and the best spot on the island for a nice dinner and a night out. The charming Oia is one of Santorini's oldest villages, located on the northernmost tip of the island and is a perfect spot for a photo of the iconic white houses - the spectacular sunsets have been able to inspire many artists. In the village of Pyrgos you’ll find churches with blue domes, old taverns, houses and a 15th-century castle – great for history lovers.
Santorini also has a large number of beaches. Sunbathe on the island’s black sandy beaches at Perivolos and Perissa, while Mesa Pigadia and Pori are the best places to admire the rugged, rocky coastline.
Santorini's climate is pleasant all year round. The average daytime temperature in the summer is 29 ° C and 15 ° C in winter. Not surprisingly, some regions of the island can get very busy during the summer peak season. But that doesn’t mean your trip to Santorini will be anything less than unforgettable.
Very good location. Very clean Staff are most helpful and friendly specially Theodore. It will be good added value if provision for a a hot drink will be provided like kettle, tea, coffee. At the moment not even a glass in the room.
The staff are wonderful, very caring and so helpful. Loved it and would so recommend this Hotel. The views are incredible and our room looked out over the sea it was picture perfect
The hotel was amazing!! Loved the architecture and the hot tub with the view of the other islands! The staff were very friendly and have helped us with all our queries l. I would highly recommend.
The property is old and has not been updated. The lobby looks very tired like in the sixties. Breakfast is very mediocre. They don’t have good coffee. I hope the hotel management will take these as positive criticism and improve the hotel for better business
Beautiful Volcano views! This hotel truly has some of the most dramatic views on the island and are what you think of when you see Santorini. The outdoor pools, restaurant, and most of the guest rooms are all oriented towards the water, maximizing this hotels best quality. The hotel is a bit outside ...
Service was exceptional. Breakfast was awesome. Location was very good. Only negative is it's very expensive, but so is most everything on this island. I would say in line with market for what you get.
No comfort lounge area. Our flight got to Santorini at 0400. When we got to the resort it very cold and uncomfortable. The seats at the front desk was low, hard and just cold inside. We had to sit outside until about 10am they were able to give us an early check in. I'm grateful for that but right ...
The place is spectacular, the views are out of the world, you don’t have to go far for famous sunset views, one can watch sun setting right from the poolside, avoiding other overcrowded places. It is a walkable distance from the center of the town, the terrain is a bit up and down, overall I will ...
