"Checked in, noticed the filth immediately. Front door was broken, should have been all I needed to see but checked in, went up the elevator to the 3rd floor. Entire place looked like a crack house you see on TV. Opened the door to my room, walked in, saw the filth, walked out. Didn’t even stay. Didn’t even request a refund from the desk. Just left. Do not recommend at all."
"The place is under a new management and has been remodeled. The whole place was extremely clean. We did have some problems with the keyless locking system and did not have internet for the night we stayed there. There is a restaurant that had just opened from 7:00 to 3:00 and a 24-hour convenience store that is well lit with little snacks and sodas and such in vending machines. The location is quite quiet and right off the Blue Ridgeparkway. Pretty close to an excellent restaurant Chateau...
"Pool could be cleaner. Stuff floating on surface of water.
Breakfast room in air conditioned.
Food at breakfast was very minimal.
Bathroom floor could be cleaned such that it didn’t appear dirty."
"The Virginian is a small and older motel in small town southern Virginia. If you are looking for a bed for a few nights this is the place. If you're looking for fancy, look elsewhere, The staff was helpful, the beds comfortable, and the location convenient for what I needed. It is also pet friendly for a $10 per night pet fee, much less than I have paid elsewhere."
"The Oakdale Inn is our favorite place to stay while in southern Virginia. The Inn is wonderful, the rooms comfortable, the breakfast is very enjoyable, and the location is very convenient to anything that you're doing in the area. The Innkeeper (Erin) is a fantastic and helpful aspect of your experience, too. Highly recommended!!"
