"We were staying in the new block, rooms 901 to 923. Lovely rooms very spacious and comfortable.
The pool looked lovely but we didn't use it, it was not quite warm enough at the end of March. But on a really hot day it looked fab.
The rooftop jacuzzi was lovely but with the top deck being overlooked by the building work going on next door it was not a very condusive space to spend too much time. Also the whole time we were there the bar on the rooftop was not open, I'm sure it would have been lovely with great views of the city.
The breakfasts were of a really good quality, an extensive buffet every day with a degree of variety.
I would go here again but would warn about the very extensive building works behind the hotel.
Location wise the hotel was good to get back to if you had a car but if walking you need to allow a good 20 minutes to get to Funchal and 30 minutes to get back."
"Breakfast was good. Service was good.
Rooms were clean- lack of suitable furniture in the common room (take over-abundance of furniture from the lobby and use it in older style rooms). Ocean view from room was good - even though there is no balcony off the room (which was larger than normal, I think)"
"I don’t recommend this place to anyone. There is no WiFi, no electric plugs points, not sufficient lighting in the room. Pay extra to use the safety deposit box. Has a kettle but no coffee or tea. The two female Reception staff are extremely rude. I will not employ them if it is my hotel. Our room was 1016. "
