Arrived at this property with a four day booking. After registration proceeded to room. Corridors smelt like old smoke. Opened the door to the room and was overwhelmed by the stench of cigarettes. Then there on the bench sat an ashtray in my non-smoking room. Thank God it was not full of old butts. Left the hotel to consider my options. Old, tired and threadbare was what I thought. Went terribly wrong in offering a smoking room to a non smoker. Cancellation policy was late cancellations lose the whole amount. I found an alternative and booked it and then went back to tell them.
