Sol y Mar-Beachfront and Beautiful - 3 bedroom/3 bathroom

Imagine relaxing on your private, beachfront terrace, after a short 25 minute drive from the Liberia International Airport. There's no need to imagine when you're staying at Sol y Mar 1B, because that's the reality!

This spacious 3 bedroom/3 bath condo is located on the second floor of beachfront Building 1. With over 2,000 square feet of space, there is plenty of room for everyone to spread out and relax. This home features an open floor plan in the living and dining areas, which are next to the modern, gourmet kitchen with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. Just beyond the large glass doors, you'll find a huge covered outdoor patio complete with wet bar and built in BBQ. You may find yourselves spending most of your time enjoying the fresh air and spectacular ocean views right from this private terrace.
Back inside, you'll find 2 bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and the 3rd bedroom with it's bathroom just down the hallway. This home has all of the modern amenities, including central air, cable TV and wireless internet.

Sol y Mar is the only beachfront condo complex in Playa Hermosa, Guanacaste, Costa Rica.
There are only 12 units total, on 3 floors, in each of the 4 buildings.
The architecture is modern and clean, with lush well maintained grounds and a beach side pool.
It is a gated community with a security guard on duty 24/7.

A 5 minute walk down the beach trail in either direction, you'll find many restaurants, bars and water sport rentals.
A 20 minute walk up the road is a mini supermarket where you can find all of your essentials. A 10 minute drive away is Playas del Coco, where you'll find a large selection of restaurants, souvenir shops and full size super markets.

Great stay

Our family of 4 really enjoyed our stay. Awesome views, great amenities and lots of space. Check in was easy and several nice restaurants all with in walking distance.

Wonderful time

Very impressed with the condo. It’s in a gated community that is staffed 24 hours. Can’t beat the view of being right on the beach. Water wasn’t very blue or clear but it was very warm and we loved it.

Wonderful time

My husband and i stayed for a wonderful month. It is a lovely big unit with everything we needed, an awesome view, very comfortable furniture, fully equipped kitchen, lovely large balcony, good internet, delightful pool, There was plenty of room for My children, who visited us for a week. They were very comfortable, loved the porch, pool and swimming in the ocean, We are looking forward to returning next year.

Wonderful family beach vacation

We loved our stay here! Multi-generational family and all had a great time. Beach view, easy access, great pool, very safe and clean. Uncrowded beach but with multiple restaurants walking distance along the sand (recommend Robertos!). Great communication with the property managers. We really loved our stay and hope to be back.

Great space in a great location

Very nice facility and this unit is very nicely furnished! Lots of space. The beds are comfortable and the restrooms are very nice. The kitchen is well equipped and there were even sharp knives for food prep! My VRBO pet peeve is most of them have cheap dull knives that can't even cut fruit. This place had a nice sharp set! Thank you!!!

The house was amazing! Even prettier than the pictures. House manager Grethyl was wonderful and returned our messages promptly. The ac went out the day we arrived and the owner was on it and had it fixed by the next morning. Beautiful property, clean and well stocked with towels and linens. The beach restaurants did not disappoint! Food was delicious. Loved our stay.

On the beach!

Fantastic Condo. The pool was fantastic and the beach was amazing! We met many other vacationers who were all renting further away from the beach up the hill and they all complained about walking way up or needing to take a shuttle up to their places. The bedrooms were large with a bathroom for each one. The mattresses were very comfortable. We spent a lot of time on the outdoor deck!

Wonderful Condo in Playa Hermosa

A wonderful 2nd floor condo with a beautiful waterfront view of the beach at Playa Hermosa! Grethal, the property manager was such a pleasure to work with. She checked us in, answered all of our questions and made sure to check on us during the week. The beds, the rooms and the bathrooms were clean and very nice. Just wonderful to wake up and sit on the huge balcony with a cup of coffee in the morning watching the birds and the waves. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Excellent stay

Would highly recommend. The location right on the beach was perfect. It also seems to be about midway between the public access, so the beach in front of the property was less busy. Excellent gated parking, with a security guard. Was well stocked, with plenty of beach accessories, lots of towels, coffee, chips and salsa, spices, etc. Condo is in good shape and clean. We particularly enjoyed the huge balcony, which was quite private and has a great view of the breach. Kids enjoyed the nice pool area. A couple of places to eat on the beach that are walking distance; Roberto’s was good for breakfast, but lunch wasn’t great and would highly recommend Ginger for dinner. Plenty of places close by to get groceries from.

Hidden gem

We were absolutely blown away by the property, the area, the scenery, and the great people we met. July/August turned out to be the perfect time - the “off” season wasn’t off at all. We had great weather and tons of privacy and perfect weather. This is one of the best trips we’ve taken!

Lovely trip, beautiful sunsets, online listing doesn’t do this place justice. Well-equipped. Make sure to get a massage from Maria on the beach - we each got two! Great beach for walking and swimming. Grounds/pool were well kept.

November 2024 stay

This was our second trip to Sol y Mar because our first trip was a dream. The property is special. We did get caught up in the weather debacle that involved two weeks of vertical rain contributing to the Liberia airport closure, and stranding us in CR for another week. The bright spot in the entire trip was our comfort at Sol y Mar. Grethel was helpful staying in contact with us while we were there. She checked in regularly and was a lifeline.

A+ property. So beautiful and the balcony overlooking the pool and the ocean was absolutely stunning!!!! So so so nice and gorgeous and private. This is a hidden gem! The realty company was also so helpful and accommodating and gracious. Excellent customer service. 5 stars!!!!

Beautiful Condo

The check in process was very smooth, we were met at the property, there was a gift basket of snacks for us at the condo as well. The home is stocked with any and everything you will need for a beach vacation. It shows that the owners love and care for this home. Beautiful furnishings, high quality and well maintained. There was nothing negative I can mention. An absolutely amazing property.

Family for SB, great location and our opinion the condo you want. Plenty of space for five people, kitchen stocked all you need. Pool is quiet and beach is calm. Plenty of places on beach to eat, we ate Roberto’s and Aqua the most. Grocery store 5 minute drive from condo. Easy drive from LLIR. We left condo, dropped rental and were at the gate in one hour. Had beach chairs and plenty towels for beach/pool. Already sent to friends to stay here.

Total relaxation

Best vacation ever. Grethel met us at the house. Made sure we had a Whats App connection. They had a nice gift basket of snacks, water and beer in the frig. Only problem with the house was the 2nd bathroom hot water shower knob did not turn on the hot water. Everyone used the master shower. Everything else was perfect. Best sleep listening to the ocean waves. Beds were comfortable. Enjoyed sitting on the balcony, watching the sunset. Great restaurants walking distance. Bring a flashlight with you. Ate twice at Roberto's. El Velero had the best taco Tuesday. Gingers Asian Tapas was great also. Howling monkeys were fun to see.Wished I could come back every year.

This location and property was amazing - the view was so worth it! Spectacular! It was also very well appointed and comfortable with lovely decor. The neighbouring property (not Sol y Mar) has a security alarm (siren) that goes off at intervals during the night (probably set off by an iguana) - so hopefully this gets rectified soon. The property is steps from the ocean with a view like none other. Just stunning. We highly recommend!

UNBEATABLE VIEW & LOCATION

Nice, spacious 3 bed/3 bath beachfront unit in a small complex on a quiet part of Playa Hermosa. Location and view cannot be beat! 2nd floor patio is large with dining table, plenty of seating and a bbq grill. The beach is a stones throw away and main bedroom and living room/kitchen have patio access/beach view. Loved falling asleep to the ocean waves, drinking coffee out on the patio, and sunset swims! Playa Hermosa is a lovely clean beach with many restaurants a quick walk down the beach--loved Roberto's for dinner and Hotel El Volero for Taco Tuesday (wear bug spray). Ocean is calm and there are jet ski/boat vendors along the beach. Condo had everything you need and was comfortable except the bedroom pillows were hard. The condo has lots of nice beach decor, but it may be too much clutter for some. Not a fan of the many photos of other guest. Odd that the protective coating on the stainless oven had not been removed. Dishwasher worked but looks corroded inside. Adjacent unit was being remodeled and we heard nonstop hammering all day, which on the first day there trying to sleep after a night flight, was miserable! We had issues with the water pressure and temperature during the day likely due to the construction. We should have been advised of the construction before booking, and at a minimum offered a discount. Unfortunate. Despite these issues, still a great stay and would likely return!
