Villa il Castagno - Three Bedroom Villa, Sleeps 11

This beautiful villa is part of a large 2000m2 park situated on the crest of a hill near a chestnut forest in the village of Valcanina Sassetta. The park contains many species of plants and is classified as a botanical garden. The house is situated at an altitude of 500 meters above sea level and is only 800 meters from the village of Sassetta where you will find everything you need such as a mini-supermarket, restaurants and coffee bars. The sea and beach of Marina di Castagneto is 12 km away and helps make this area an ideal destination for a complete and relaxing holiday. Guests can use the large swimming pool which is also available for guests of the adjacent villa. From the fisrt floor you have a view of the “Pian delle Vigne” valley and the surrounding villages. There is ample private parking available.

This beautiful villa has a total area of approximately 160m² and can accommodate 8 to 11 persons. The house has two floors. The ground floor contains a spacious living room with a large fireplace, a table with 11 chairs and two double bed sofas. The kitchen is adjacent to the living room and is fully equipped including, among other things, a gas hob, electric oven, refrigerator, toaster, Italian and Dutch coffeemakers and a dishwasher. Also located in the kitchen is a small wooden table and a sofa. From the living room you have access to the garden with its elegant gazebo complete with garden furniture and a barbecue. On the ground floor you'll find the first bathroom, equipped with a toilet, bidet, sink and washing machine. Via an internal staircase you can reach the top floor. There are 3 bedrooms each with a private bathroom with shower, toilet and bidet. Two of the bedrooms have a double bed and a single bed (each). The third bedroom is furnished with a double and a single bed sofa. Two of the bedrooms share a common terrace from where you have a beautiful view. The house is comfortably furnished and has central heating and a TV with satellite connection. In every room of the house there is sufficient closet space.

This accommodation lies amidst a beautiful environment renowned for its mild climate, natural beauty, history, poetry and famous wines. You will find numerous wine farms serving local dishes along with the finest wines. Examples include: DOC Bolgheri, DOC Montescudaio, DOC Val di Cornia, and DOC ELBA. You have plenty of choice in the area when it comes to hiking, cycling and even mountain biking trails. You can also visit nature reserves (L'Oasi di Bolgheri) and archaeological sites. The area has some beautiful beaches with really clear water, ideal for swimming, windsurfing and other water sports. You can contact diving schools in Baratti and San Vincenzo. By car you can make excursions to famous cities like Florence, Pisa, Volterra, San Gimignano, Siena, Mssima Marittima, Perugia and Assisi. Elba Island is located 45 km away and is accessible by ferry, so you can bring your car. There are several stables that offer horseback riding. For children there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy themselves. For example, there is a water park in Cecina and the amusement parks of Il Cavallino Matto in Castagneto Carducci.
Every Sunday morning at 11:00, beginning from June the 8th, the owner organize guided tours in the botanical garden “La Soldanella”. The tours last approximately one hour, depending on the season and which plants and flowers are in bloom, these tours are also without cost.

Not included in the price:
A refundable security deposit is required per apartment.
Heating is available upon prior request and is charged by hour.
A tourist tax applies per person per night for stays between May 1 and September 15, up to a maximum of 30 consecutive nights. Children under 12 years of age, disabled guests, and their accompanying guides are exempt from this tax.
Pets allowed (on request).


The swimming pool is always open.

Mandatory door-to-door waste collection:
In the event of waste accumulation at check-out, a deduction of €50 will be made from the deposit.

Smoking Policy:
Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the Villa. Should this policy be violated, the deposit will be retained to cover the cost of cleaning the curtains, blankets, bedspreads, and pillow covers.
