A Chateaux in Saumur
More than most properties - Gille’s sprawling 16th, 17th and other centuries place will mould to your wishes. No heated pool for us and the games room remained quiet. But a wonderful maze with parking for only the Le Mans champs ( like myself). Everything is close and walkable.

A wonderful base for seeing the beauties of the Loire Valley
We were a group of 8, and the house was more than adequate in size and facilities to accommodate us. The indoor pool and the games room were excellent added features. An well-appointed kitchen meant we could cook several of our meals in the house. The closeness to all amenities (restaurants, bars, cafes, butcher, supermarket, boulangeries, etc) made everything easy to access. Also, a great Saturday morning market for excellent fresh produce. Gilles, our host was excellent, and always on hand if we needed any assistance. It was nice on occasion that he would accept our invitation to have a glass of wine together. We cannot speak highly enough of the wonderful experience we had at the property, and can certainly recommend it highly.

Historic home in the city center with view of castle!
We are two couples in our 70’s who travel together. We have spent 3 1/2 weeks in France and this was the last week of our trip before we return to the US. After visiting Paris, Normandy and the Dordogne we came to the Loire Valley. Visiting so many historic areas we were pleased to spend our time in this wonderful home. We were in walking distance of the square with many wonderful restaurants and shops. We traveled by car to many of the wonderful and impressive Chateaus. This was the perfect location. Very comfortable and had everything we needed. Giles was very attentive to our every need. We have stayed in many VRBO’s around the world and this was definitely one of our favorites!

Superb in Saumur
A truly wonderful stay at a magnificent house and a great host. Nothing was too much trouble and the house is simply incredible. Reflecting the aura and ambience of a historical town with the added bonus of a pool and games room. Thoroughly recommended.

Perfectly-located, large, comfortable home with historic charm
Our group of 6 truly enjoyed our stay in Gilles' home in Saumur. The home was large enough to accommodate 6 adults, with spaces to congregate, and also enough space to be by yourself when you need it. The location was perfect, right off Place St-Pierre with its restaurants, cafes, and shops, and also with views of Saumur Castle. Gilles was easy to communicate with and always responsive and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

You will have no regrets......
What a fantastic property to stay at! We were a group of nine elderly gentlemen on a weeks cycling holiday & we all agreed the house was perfect for our stay. The property is situated in an excellent location & is full of character. There are numerous rooms, all traditionally finished. The pool was well used after our rides, as was the games room. The courtyard was comfortable & stayed in sun until the late afternoon. Although a little tricky, it was also possible to park three cars comfortably in the courtyard. There is also a single bed we were not aware of. Turn right out of the door & in less than a minute you are in a beautiful square surrounded by bars. Communication with Gilles the owner was was excellent. There are none of our group who would not hesitate to return.

This is a fantastic and unique place to stay
It was fantastic from start to finish. The house itself is beautiful, its facilities exceptional (the pool, the games room, the space , the furniture and decor, I could go on! Gilles the owner was in touch to ensure all was good. The town is just around the corner and is lively and fun to be in the square in the evening. No noise at night at all. I can’t fault this place, the best we’ve ever stayed in.

Fabulous house- exceeded expectations
Wonderful character building- we loved it! Big enough for everyone to have their own space whilst still being together. Just around the corner from a square buzzing with life and yet feeling secluded and tranquil. Great pool and games room- we enjoyed everything

A week in Saumur
Excellent location for the centre of Saumur and exploring. Plenty of room and amazing period features. Everything we needed was there....plenty of cutlery, plates etc. Pool area is good and plenty of cover in the outside seating area. If you are not comfortable with getting your car into very tight entrances - or have anything bigger than an E class estate - be prepared to park remotely as the access to the parking area is pretty tight.

Lovely property in Saumur
The property was lovely. A beautiful view of the castle, nice outdoor area and lots of room. We had 6 adults and an infant with lots of space. The pool was warm. Nice game room with a pool table. Walking to all the good spots in Saumur.

Truly magical
We all loved our stay and felt so relaxed in this amazing house. Can't beat sitting in the garden in the evening with the illuminated chateau just above you! Or swimming in the heated pool whenever you want. Or sitting chatting in the kitchen with its large table. Or just being somewhere with so much space. The house is in a great location - very quiet but just a minute away from the life of the town. Just perfect. Vanessa met us in the evening after our long journey and was very welcoming, and our host Gilles was in contact during our stay to find out if we had everything we needed. They both were there to say goodbye and made us feel as if we were friends rather than guests.

Wonderdul stay
We spent almost 2 weeks in the fantastic house with plenty of charm and space. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped with a great farm table for breakfast and dinners. It has also a lovely garden with a great view of the chateau. In fact many of the rooms have a view of the chateau. The location is unbeatable as the main square St-Pierre is a short distance away. All the restaurants and shops are nearby so that you do not need a car to get around as Saumur is a very walkable town. The indoor pool is quite the luxury. The property owner Gilles was very welcoming and always available to answer any to answer questions we may have even though we never met him. However his innkeeper Madame C. was there to greet us warmly and also available to respond our questions. We highly recommend this house as we spent marvelous days and would gladly return.

Wonderful stay in Saumur
Amazing house with amazing features. The court yard and the pool favourites. So close to the very heart of Saumur with an incredible view of the castle. Would highly recommend this house and will hopefully visit again. Host was very friendly, accommodating and easy to deal with.

Great location, great property, great host!
Fantastic property full of history with many rooms to explore. Gilles has renovated the property to a very high standard while keeping its original charm. The location was perfect with bars, cafes and the river just a few minutes walk. We met with Gilles and his wife one night by chance and learned more about the history of the building and it’s familiy connection to Gilles which was fascinating. I would truly recommend Saumur and this fantastic property for a memorable stay.

Wonderful place to dtay
Giles was a wonderful host. Very helpful with wonderful tips for our stay in Saumur. The house itself was better than the photographs. The indoor pool worked well as the temp. hit 42. The location was perfect just minutes from the main square but still quite at night allowing for a peaceful nights sleep

A superb gite
We had a wonderful time in this gite. The gite was of historical interest and interesting, very spacious and well equipped. Although there was a record breaking heatwave the week we were there (43 degrees one day), the gite was very cool at all times. We met Gilles several times - he and his wife were extremely charming . We would love to spend a holiday there again some time.

Beautiful Saumur
We had a wonderful time at this fantastic home. It is in a great location to visit the Loire region and to simply walk around Saumur. The view of the Chateau from the property is beyond description. The home is very modern with all the expected high quality features one would expect, but with wonderful charm of an older home. All the renovations have been tastefully completed and at a high level of quality. The owner is very helpful and accommodating.

Nous avons passé un très agréable séjour en famille dans cette magnifique maison, à l'occasion du pont de l'Ascension. Il s'agit d'une maison familiale, pratique et faite pour accueillir les enfants. Le propriétaire, Gilles, est particulièrement réactif, pour résoudre tout les petits pbs. La maison est particulièrement bien située, en plein de coeur de la ville, à proximité immédiate des commerces et restaurants, et avec un très agréable petit jardin. Les enfants (et les grands!) ont beaucoup apprécié la piscine et la salle de jeux, avec billard et baby-foot. Nous gardons tous de merveilleux souvenirs de ce week end prolongé.

Super séjour en famille, tout est fait pour se sentir chez soi et tout est sécurisé pour les enfants en bas age (piscine fermée à clef). L'endroit est fabuleux, chaleureux et bien équipé ! Traumurlaub in märchenhafter Stadtvilla mit beheiztem Innenpool
Wir hatten zu viert eine wunderbare Woche in dem großen, historischen Stadthaus, das trotz historischem Ambiente nicht nur geschmackvoll sondern auch zweckmäßig und praktisch eingerichtet ist. Der große Innenpool ist beheizt und sauber. Alle Räume lassen sich rasch und effektiv beheizen. Die Küche ist groß, trotzdem sehr gemütlich und perfekt ausgestattet. Die Betten sind bequem und alle Zimmer sind farbenfroh und mit schönen Antiquitäten stilvoll eingerichtet. Von fast allen Räumen aus hat man einen sagenhaften Blick auf das Schloss von Saumur. Die Kommunikation mit dem Vermieterehepaar war sehr angenehm und professionell - sie haben sich um alles gekümmert, waren stets erreichbar und trotz des familiären Klimas unaufdringlich und rücksichtsvoll. Danke für den schönen Urlaub!

Wunderschöner Aufenthalt an der Loire
Dank Familie Gros durften wir einen wunderschönen Urlaub an der Loire verbringen. In historischem Ambiente, mitten in der Altstadt, und trotzdem ruhig gelegen. Das Highlight waren der warme, große Innenpool und die fantastische Aussicht auf das Schloss von Saumur. Ein großes Haus voller Geschichte und trotzdem modern ausgestattet mit schnellem WIFI und guter Innen-Einrichtung. Ein ganz besonderes Ambiente in einer Gegend, die so romantisch und historisch beeindruckend ist. Wir würden gern wiederkommen!

Nous avons passé un excellent moment en famille! L'emplacement est idéal en plein coeur de Saumur et proche de nombreux centres d'intérêts. La propreté est au rdv. La modernité des équipements est à souligner. La piscine d'intérieur chauffée est un vrai plus.

Très belle demeure ancienne parfaitement restaurée , très spacieuse, bien équipée. La piscine est parfaite. Nous avons passé une semaine très agréable. De plus, l emplacement est idéal, en plein centre historique, près des commerces et à 50 m de la Loire. On serait bien resté une semaine de plus !

Maison au cachet incontestable, idéalement située au centre du vieux Saumur. Laissez votre voiture dans la cour intérieure qui offre touté l'intimité requise et partir à pieds à la découverte du château (à quelques centaines de mètres) et de toutes les petites ruelles pittoresques, commerçantes et animées a été un veritable régal. Sans oublier les ballades le long de la Loire tout aussi réjouissantes. A refaire!

TRES BELLE DEMEURE - EMPLACEMENT EXCEPTIONNEL
La demeure est superbe, très fonctionnelle, parfaitement équipée avec de beaux espaces : Cuisine spacieuse, grandes chambres toutes avec salle de bain, piscine chauffée très agréable et bien entretenue. Parfait pour un séjour en famille ou entre amis. La vue sur le château de Saumur est exceptionnelle. L a maison est situé au cœur de la ville tout en étant très calme. Accès direct aux commerces. Propriétaires très sympathiques et attentifs au bien-être de leurs hôtes. Je recommande !

Très belle propriété au coeur de la ville
Ce logement associe le charme de l’ancien avec une rénovation moderne. Les photos mériteraient de mettre la maison encore plus en valeur ! La piscine intérieur est très agréable et permet d’en profiter sans se soucier du climat. Parfait pour découvrir diverses caves et Chateaux aux alentours !
