"Our stay at the Hilltop House at Hvammsvík Nature Resort was, quite simply, beyond words fantastic. From the moment we followed the dirt road up the hill, we knew we had found someplace very special. Perched above the surrounding landscape, the house offers extraordinary, nearly 360-degree views of the mountains, water, sky and beautiful Icelandic countryside. It feels wonderfully private and peaceful. The interior is every bit as impressive. My wife is a professional stylist working in interiors and photography/advertising, and she absolutely fell in love with the design. The owners clearly understand how to create a space that is sophisticated and beautifully curated while still feeling warm and inviting. The furniture, artwork, textures and thoughtful details throughout are exceptional. Future guests should absolutely experience the private geothermal sitting pool on the east side of the house. Relaxing in the warm water, protected from the Icelandic wind while looking across the bay, was unforgettable. We genuinely loved this home and were actually sad to leave. Of all the wonderful places and landscapes we experienced during our time in Iceland, our stay at Hilltop House will remain one of our favorite memories. Hilltop House isn't simply a beautiful place to stay—it's a place you experience and remember. We would return in a heartbeat. Love, love, love this place!"

"Our room on the first floor was very good. Charming, traditional guesthouse style. The kitchen is cramped but well stocked with breakfast options and cookware. Try to arrive while it’s still light outside, the signs can be easily missed. I would stay here again for the comfort and peaceful atmosphere."

"Very quiet area of town outside Reykjavik. Hotel was clean and had plenty of amenities. Only scary part was someone walking into our hotel room at 2am because the door wasn’t closed properly. Didn’t learn till after that you have to lift door for it to properly lock. Overall, was a nice stay"
