"We stayed at Quinta das Lágrimas via Hotels.com Rewards and the experience was appalling. We felt discriminated against for using rewards from the start. Despite paying an extra fee for our children, the hotel provided no extra bed or towels for them. My 4-year-old was forced to sleep in our bed, and basic amenities were denied.
The room was far below 5-star standards: stains on the ceiling, damaged wood walls, and an ancient, poor-quality baby cot. On the second day, the hotel intentionally deactivated our room key, forcing us to walk across the property with our family. Staff condescendingly suggested the door "allegedly" (alegadamente) wouldn't open because of us, but management later admitted they restricted access just to scan our daughters' IDs—a request they could have made at any other time.
This happened on my wife’s birthday, making the stay extremely uncomfortable. I have filed two official complaints in the "Livro de Reclamações" regarding the lack of service and illegal ID handling. As a loyal Hotels.com member for years, I am disgusted by this treatment. Avoid this property if you expect professional service and respect for families.
