Sandcastle - Sand City House - Hidden Beach Gem

Nestled at the edge of Seaside in Sand City (population 372), this home rates a major WOW. (Or two or three.) The upper level features a swoon-worthy kitchen, dining for eight, a living room with a large TV and fireplace, a master suite  (with a private bath and walk-in shower), a powder room, laundry, and the piece de resistance: a covered patio with a firepit and a sectional for lounging.  Downstairs, there’s a bedroom/den with a fold-out sofa and a desk, a full bath with a tub/shower, and a guestroom that opens to the backyard (w/dining table, chaises and a barbecue).  From here, you can walk to the local craft brewery or enjoy a slice of pie at Sweet Elena’s bakery—while perusing the fanciful wall murals created by Sand City’s many artists. Ocean lovers will appreciate easy access to the beach via the Tioga Road overpass (approx. seven-minute walk). There’s also a corner playground for the kiddies, and if you don’t feel like cooking, you’ll find scores of delis and diners nearby, along with a gamut of international cuisines (Thai, Chinese, Mexican, Japanese, German, Italian and more).   Street and driveway parking only. Great house for visiting with your group.

I spent 5 nights with 3 family members and this house was the perfect place to visit and catch up with each other. The open area including the kitchen, dining, and living was light filled. The house is located in a very quiet area. The house was very clean and the kitchen was well supplied, The beds were comfortable.

Sand Castle Stay.

Great Stay

The house is beautiful and has everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The beach is a short walk and it's super easy to drive or uber to other Monterey attractions.

Really enjoyed our time in this house. We stayed in a few different properties on this trip and this one was by far the best! Plenty of space for 6 people, fully stocked kitchen and bathrooms and very clean. It's on a dead end street, so very quiet.

From the moment we stepped inside the was bright snd beautiful. The property manager Kyle was an excellent communicator and provided 5 star service. The house had a beautiful well stocked large l kitchens, lots of window with views the beds were incredibly comfy. Quality designed. Wish we stayed longer. Highly recommend.

A few days in Monterey

We had a lovely time at the Sandcastle. The kitchen was fabulously appointed so we could have a few family meals at leisure and then watch movies in the living room all together. The sea breeze was a delight and house as a whole is just beautiful. Would absolutely stay there again.

Gorgeous and clean

This is a stunning hike with all the amenities. The only thing it does not have is AC, which is not a big deal because there are many fans through out the house and the area generally stays cool. This home is comfortable, has great decors and in a very safe area. I would definitely recommend

Good Spot and central

I stayed here for the Laguna Seca ImSA race. Costco, shopping close by. Easy to get to the race and The warf. House was clean and everything was as promised. Parking spot is tight don't think my full size truck would have fit but the wifes bronco fit just fine.

Great Stay

Our first impression was that it was so clean. Great house for 3 adults, we attended the Carmel Bach festival and loved the rental house. One suggestion would be to instal a window covering in the main bedrooms water closet. Neighbors are very close. We look forward to renting this house again.

Beautiful place weird spot

The house is beautiful, the beds are amazing- even the pull out bed and couch in the living room. There are wonderful little details of jewelry holders in the bathroom, instructions, shampoo, makeup wash cloth and much more. The kitchen is well stocked. The house is centrally located. The only complaint is the house is in a more commercial/ industrial area. At first we were nervous. There is not a view of the ocean or a great view but otherwise it is seriously adorable .

Family vacation

The house was beautiful and in easy driving distance to the places we wanted to see. Our 3 year old grandson loved the house. The house is well equipped for visitors. When the pullout bed was opened in the third bedroom it is difficult to get to the closet. This was it a problem for the younger person assigned to that bedroom.

Sandcastle Sanctuary

Sandcastle is a pristine property. It has a unique floorplan, which allows for views of the surrounding hills, and a glimpse of the ocean. The home is beautifully, and adequately, appointed, and decorated tastefully to reflect the coastal setting. The home is very clean and comfortable. We loved the outdoor deck being able to sit outside and enjoy the weather and chat. No complaints about the home, however while we sat outside both evenings, the next door neighbors were quite obvious in their eavesdropping. It was a little uncomfortable.

Nice spot for laguna seca events

House was clean and quiet. Kitchen and master are on the second floor, which was a bit odd, but worked fine. As others have noted, there is no AC. Upon arrival, the house was a bit warm at 78 but cooled off with all the windows open before getting to bed. Only other peculiarity was the labeling of kitchen inventory on every shelf, which happened to be incorrect on almost every shelf. If it says 11 glasses and there only 10, makes me worried I may be charged for a pre-existing problem. Update them regularly or remove them. Otherwise, the property is very close to costco and downtown seaside, and about 15min to track parking which was great for us.
