"It's a very atmospheric place, and I don't regret staying there overnight. I can recommend it, but understand that this is a house in the countryside and there might be small insects in the room. The grounds are excellent, green and beautiful, with two parking lots, but they're small. The restaurant is tasty and fast. The specialty is the average portions. Breakfast is okay. The rooms are nice, plenty of space, and the toilets are decent. There were a few complaints about the bathroom. Cons:...

"Room was very clean and modern. Staff was very friendly. It was a beautiful villa and very peaceful. Wish I couldve stayed longer. Only issue was the road that leads to it is very bad and my drivers had a hard time reaching it. "

"Our stay at Sanglung Villas was truly unforgettable.
The place is absolutely beautiful and exceptionally clean, surrounded by nature and offering a peaceful, calming atmosphere from the very beginning.
The service was outstanding, and the staff were incredibly helpful and attentive to every detail.
A special thanks to Asih and her team for the warm welcome and excellent service in every aspect. Their hospitality made us feel completely at home.

"Disappointing stay. Seems there are no staff anywhere. Poor service at restaurants, went to the spa to book and was empty, went to gift shop says it's open but no staff, same with bars. Food was average quality for a high price. Most expensive stay and food we've had in Bali with the lowest quality. Much nicer hotels in the area with staff that are ready to assist"
"Tanah Gajah was by far the most relaxing vacation my wife and I have ever had. From our villa with infiti pool looking on to the rice paddies to the private walled accomodation, the extensive beautifully designed gardens, wonderful food by chef Dean, everything superb!
Staff couldn’t do enough and everyone, from ground staff to housekeeping to management should be proud of your customer services, a truly fantastic experience, my wife and I can’t wait to come back."
"The stay at Maya was nice and the area was beautiful. The Villas are very peaceful as well as the whole property. There is a nice calm feeling at this resort as it feels secluded even though it is very close to the downtown Ubud area. The live performances at dinner were a fun addition; if that be the traditional dancing at the main restaurant or the band doing cover songs at the bar.
We are giving Maya 4 stars rather than 5 because a lot of the amenities stopped between 5 and 7 which created multiple inconvenient experiences on trip. For example, the tram is a great amenity that takes guests to downtown Ubud but it only runs from 9am to 5pm. This is such an early time to be shutting down this amenity. In addition the pools and spa close at 7pm which seems very early.
Regardless of the amenities, this was a very nice resort to have some calm and just be."
"Conveniently located on a street parallel to the main drag with restaurants and shops but a third of the traffic. There’s scooter hire and trip agents as well as a convenience store within a minutes walk.great staff and food. Breakfast has eggs cooked to your liking with bacon, sausage, various Indonesian options as well as fresh melon, toast, pastries, cereals, fresh milk and juices so great options. Room has good WiFi ok TV with some English channels, 2 pools available. Only downside is lots of steps as built on land that was terraced rice paddies and awkward access for taxis/drivers.
The free afternoon tea was great as was the one meal we ate on site (we loved Warung Ning if you want a truly authentic Balinese meal)"
"We had a wonderful 7-day stay at Alaya! The staff was amazing- always ready to help make our stay comfortable. Housekeeping was done twice a day. Breakfast was excellent and included both a buffet and a menu to order from. They customized many options for us to vegetarian versions. The hotel also arranged day trips for us with a personal driver for sightseeing. Yoga Barn was nextdoor so it was an easy walk back after an evening class. There were many restaurants for dinner options within walking distance. I would highly recommend Alaya to anyone visiting Ubud."
"This 48 room hotel is amazing and a hidden gem in Ubud. Close to everything and on a quiet street, the staff is so helpful and they offer a unique experience. Many included programs to learn and experience Balinese culture. A pristine infinity pool I could swim laps in as others also enjoyed the pool. Plus breakfast, included and top notch. Fresh everything, so many choices and the most amazing surroundings to enjoy the food peacefully. "
