The Grand Lodge of The Golden Circle

  • 2400 sqf wonderful cosy cabin in beautiful surroundings located in the Golden circle - in a gated area ca 50 minute drive from Reykjavik. The cabin is super clean and offers all the necessary amenities to have an enjoyable stay. 4 bedrooms, 6 beds. Fully equipped kitchen with fridge/freezer, stove/oven, Nespresso machine. Tv and pool table in the second floor living area. Free wifi. Two full bathrooms with showers. Deck fully fenced. Hot tub, outside seating and BBQ. Free EV Charger.

This worked very well for our family, including 8 teenage grandchildren. It is a bit removed from many of the Golden Circle sites, but that seems to be the way things are in Iceland and all require a long drive. The good news about that is that the town of Selfoss is only about 20 minutes away with shopping, gas, and restaurants. The pool table and hot tub were a big hit with the kids. This place was cute, cozy, and altogether wonderful. We appreciated the washer and the well-stocked kitchen. Several family members enjoyed the neighborhood for running and walking. There was plenty of room for the 10 of us to spread out. Everything was very clean! Linda was wonderful in answering questions and making recommendations for us. The only complaints we had (probably because we are old!) is that the lighting in the bedrooms and baths could have been better. One of the bathrooms tended to be damp and the door had to be propped open when not in use to address that. I would stay there again in a heartbeat!
