"Motel 6 has a reputation for being a trashy motel. But, the photos looked much improved so I thought, "maybe they're rebranding." Here's the honest truth: no room ever looks as good as the photos. That said, I was really impressed by how decent the room was and how much I felt Motel 6 had stepped up their game. So, inside the room, my expectations were exceeded. Outside the room, the exterior of the hotel and the additional clientele were still on parr with the less-than-savory reputation. Also, our second night there, I flipped the switch and the lights went out. I'm guessing a fuse. They had no one to fix it. So, they gave us another room with no additional compensation. Obviously, it would have been worse if they hadn't even given us another room. Even so, it was still really inconvenient to have to pack all our stuff up, move to another room, and unpack it all again. "

"We tremendously enjoyed our stay at Roadrunner Roost! The house was spacious, clean, & comfortable. The primary suite’s bed was perfect & we loved the large & low entry shower. The outdoor seating was spectacular for enjoying the desert views. Roadrunner Roost was conveniently located to Joshua Tree NP & town. Also, Patricia was friendly & helpful. We enjoyed the peacefulness & quiet solitude of this desert retreat!"

"The photos of the house were a bit deceptive. I would describe the house as just old, very outdated & not well-maintained. Rust, gunky bathroom faucets & soap dispenser, dust bunnies, sagging cabinets, well worn rugs. No shade in the backyard. Traffic is rather loud from the front bedroom. Laundry is listed as an amenity, but may not have been available for guest use - - host didn’t reply to my inquiry to verify. The listing states that street parking is ample, however, a park ranger scolded us for parking on the street. Beds were comfy. Location is very conveniently close to entrance of Joshua Tree National Park. Checkout process was simple. Checkin process required the old fashioned lockbox with keys. Restrictions to AC temp settings."

"Beautiful small one bedroom house in the desert. Stocked as needed for my use. The sunrise and sunset were superlative each day. Spent the days in Joshua Tree NP and this was a beautiful retreat to start and end the day."

"Great kitchen, well furnished, and good location adds up to 5 Stars! Parking in a garage is a plus. Since our visit was in February we didn’t need to try the heating or cooling systems. Highly recommended "
