A perfect place for someone vacationing alone or for a couple. Its cozy and pretty quiet, and its close enough to Shenandoah Park thats its not really a slog to get anywhere. Overall a great place for anyone looking to explore the Shenandoah region.
It was so cozy and had great views. We spent most of our time in Shenandoah national park but it was nice to come back to this little cabin each night. It was clean and we had no problems. We would definitely recommend this place.
We had a great extended weekend getaway to visit Luray and Shenandoah. House had all we needed and was clean and tidy. We needed some assistance one night and Kenneth was very quick to respond!
This little cabin is cute as can be, and I love the location. It’s close enough to all the things to do in Luray, and The Skyline Drive. It was very clean and had everything we needed. We would definitely stay again 😊
We loved it. It was perfect. Peaceful and lovely. Got to see chickens, cats, lots of birds. Close to Luray and A LOT of hiking spots. We’d 100% stay again.
This was our second time staying at Whippoorwill Nest. The location is perfect, out of the way, but close to everything you need. The view of the mountains from the cabin is beautiful. You also have good cell service, which is a huge bonus. We will definitely continue to come back to this place 😊
This was our first time using VRBO and we were not disappointed. We wanted a weekend getaway where we could ride our motorcycles. This was perfect. The GPS not so much as it had us going 1/4 mile past the driveway... but we quickly found the house and it was perfect. Just the right size for 2. We didn't spend a lot of time there - since we were out and about during the day.
Rest and Relaxation is very easy to have in this beautiful little cabin.
Bunnies, Deer and constant bird song made it such an enjoyable visit.
Clean and cleaner was the cabin.
Nothing fancy but it’s where we will stay in the future on trips to the area.
The front porch was a great hangout and the solitude is close enough to ‘civilization’ if you don’t want to cook in the cabin.
We did the North end day one and stopped at the VA Beer Museum to find some (to us) funny factoids about our forefathers. Day two, we did the southern half; much more wild/unkempt. This little cabin is fab for two! Hubby is right-side paralyzed and this little space was perfect (with some help up the two access stairs). Super quiet and a ton of deer to watch. I brought along pillows after reading a review but seriously not needed and we were in pillow heaven… Come stay! This place is clean and awesome!
I loved my stay! The cabin was super clean cute, comfy, and cozy. Butterflies flying around daily and pleasant melodies of the birds, scenic view of the mountains was amazing! This allowed me to tap into nature in a whole new way. Thi getaway gave me the rest, relaxation, rejuvenation and peace that I needed. Being a mental health professional this was the ultimate personal self-care retreat. Higly recommend especially if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle.
I have a goal of visiting every state for at least 5 days to see what each state has to offer. I make sure to get a comprehensive idea of their food, nature, and activities. I am only 23, so I am limited in my resources, but I have knocked off 15 so far. This winter I decided to go to Virginia, and this was the location I decided to stay at. It was perfect! The rental is located in an amazing spot nested between two fields full of rolling hills and beautiful green grass, which are absolutely serene. There are American flags planted among the hills which is nice and patriotic. After settling in, we hiked in Shenandoah National Park for two days, and then headed south to Wintergreen to ski, among other activities. This location was a perfect resting spot for both, and it gave me a great opportunity to see a comprehensive view of Virginia. One night, I saw the most stars in the sky I have ever seen, and that’s after traveling to Alaska, Utah, Wyoming, and Montana. Out of all the places I have been to, the sky was the prettiest here. I saw 5-6 shooting stars in 20 minutes! The rolling hills were a great sight to see every morning, along with clear skies at night. The rental was very well decorated and kept up with, and it was a great spot to relax and play cards after a long day. Plus, there were some friendly chickens that would greet us every morning and put a smile on my face to start the day. If anyone is looking to explore the Virginia countryside, this is the perfect place!

This little cabin is amazing. I look forward to going back for more RnR
This is a great little cabin in the Shenandoah! It was clean and cozy and, as a woman traveling alone, was remote enough to feel like a getaway without feeling too isolated. Definitely recommend!

We already plan to go back!
We were hoping to get away from it all, and we did! It was so peaceful and quiet. No one around but chickens and deer (and one cat ).
The bed was comfortable, and bathroom stocked with nice thick fluffy towels.
We were pleasantly surprised to find a container of coffee along with a coffee maker and filters. There is even a mason type jar with sugar and powdered creamer if one uses these in their coffee.
It was a learning curve to figure out the convection cook top, but if I could do it, you can too 😊.
There is also a combination toaster oven/air fryer and a microwave for cooking needs.
The TV remote was simple to use, not many channels, but we could get a national network, and a few oldie stations, and this was enough for us.
The house is in such a pretty rural setting, with the mountains in the distance. We enjoyed our time on the front porch and in the covered seating area behind the house.
Kenneth was quick to respond with any questions.
No complaints, just a fabulous stay.
