This was a very relaxing stay for us. We live and work in the Willamette Valley. We usually vacation in Lincoln County or the Wallowas, but we wanted a change. This definitely was a great change of scene with interesting local shops and readily available hikes and drives—not to mention Bend.
Rooms were surprisingly luxurious and well-appointed. The bath—water coming down from ceiling—was particularly gorgeous, but it took a minute to figure out how to drain it.
Breakfast is recommended. The little outside nook is really peaceful with the Ponderosa Pines above and bird conversations all about. Their granola is also delicious.
One recommended side trip if you’re in to short hikes, is to drive about fifteen or twenty miles to the east and visit the headwaters of the Metolius River. It’s a pretty area and a very easy hike.
About the only sort of negative I can recall, is confusion about the nightly deposit. I failed to understand for some reason that it was a deposit and thought the price was higher than expected. Not a big deal and probably the fault of my hearing.
