Awesome family trip at Paul’s Cabin!
We had an awesome 4th of July week at Paul’s cabin!! We came last year for a long weekend and booked for a full week this summer. The location is great (secluded in the woods with beautiful lake front views), and we loved the dock and boat. We read a previous review that the hot tub wasn’t working, and asked Paul about it who was very responsive and had it fixed and working perfectly for our trip. We couldn’t get our daughter out of it! Loved the campfires at night and hiking up the road in the mornings. I’m sure we will be back! Highly recommend.

We had beautiful weather and enjoyed the incredible views from all levels of the house. Fire pit made for a fun first night celebration. A little disappointed that the hot tub was not in working order and we were not notified about it. Also instructions for wifi did not work and manager did not return our call.

Wish we had another week!
This was our first family vacation since our children were little. The cabin was perfect for us. There was plenty of room to gather both inside and out. The trip down to and up from the lake was a bit challenging as was the drive in, but that said it was wonderful to have family time in a beautiful setting! Everything you need!
Amazing property towards the south end of skaneateles lake. Right on the water with all of the amenities you need to cook, grill and relax in the hot tub after enjoying a day on one of the cleanest lakes in the country. We look forward to being back next year!

What a magical cabin in the woods! We were so impressed with the indoor and outdoor living spaces. We spent most of our time outside, on the deck, on the dock, at the fire pit, in the hot tub and, of course, on the lake. Driveway was definitely a challenge. Also have to mention the property manager, Mike. Mike went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect!

Gorgeous cabin
Wonderful log cabin home on crystal clear Skaneateles lake. Paul’s cabin is beautiful and very well equipped. We especially enjoyed the brand new smoker. The house comes with just about everything you need. Would definitely recommend 4-wheel drive and plan your groceries so you minimize trips in and out. You won’t want to leave the lake and the property!

We stayed for a week over the 4th of July. The place was absolutely amazing. Very relaxing and a ton of space. We had three adults and three children, plenty of room for everyone. Paul the owner was very nice, just and outstanding guy. Mike the property manager was very attentive, also a super nice guy. We will be back to stay again soon!

Awesome lake house!
Amazing property, very secluded and right on the lake. Multi-level deck with hot tub, rocking chairs, fire pit and dock on the water. Our family had a great time here and looking forward to coming back again! Only wish there were curtains on the windows and better doors for the bedrooms.

A spectacular home on beautiful Skaneateles Lake
Although it rained profusely, our stay was enjoyable. The wrap-around porch provided a place outside for socializing, and the interior is special. Paul and his wife have thought of everything to make a stay there hassle free, and Mike, the caretaker, was prompt, available and helpful. The location is remote and spectacular (Take heed to the admonition to have a 4 wheel drive vehicle).

Wonderful getaway by the lake
We really enjoyed our stay at Paul’s cabin . We were really impressed by how clean all the sheets and towels were and the whole cabin. I’m fussy about that and they didn’t disappoint , and the views were amazing . we enjoyed the indoor and outdoor fires and the hot tub as it was cold during our stay .I highly reccomend Paul’s cabin it is a great place to get away .we will be planning another trip in the summer .the town is only a short drive away and it is full of all different shops and restaraunt s .Paul and mike are very easy to reach and always available if needed. The only thing I would say is they aren’t kidding when they reccomend a 4 wheel drive vehicle .we are very glad we took the pickup truck .

Great property, great views.
Property is wonderful, we had plenty of room for our family, four adult couples. There are so many neat places to sit and enjoy the view. It was a very relaxing weekend. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet place to unwind and be with family.

Lovely Stay in Skaneateles Area
The house was terrific for outdoor activities, we enjoyed our stay. The upstairs porch with the rocking chairs was a favorite spot of ours. As the other reviewers say it is really a good idea to get a 4 wheel drive.

Beautiful Setting
This is a beautiful place to relax and enjoy nature, with lovely decks and different sitting areas to hang out. Lake was wonderful, we swam and kayaked a little, as lake was a little rough. The kitchen was equipped with anything you could possibly need, best of all places we have stayed. But bring food etc in with you, because the winding gravel road in is a bit daunting! The town of Skaneateles is lovely. We were two couples, and the only disappointment is that the bathroom for main floor rooms (one has two single beds, one has a double bed) has only sink, toilet and tub….no shower. You have to go down stairs for shower. The other double bed room is a mezzanine, quite nice, but not very private. The ground floor has single bedrooms and full bath, but seating for movie screen (movie videos provided) only has a sofa for 2 people, plus some small ottomans. OK for kids, not so good for two adult couples. As a result we did not use that area at all, but very much enjoyed the living room with fireplace and all the outdoor areas. We had a wonderful

5 star stay for sure!
We stayed in Paul’s Cabin late July 2021 and had an amazing stay. Our kids absolutely loved the home and the privacy. We were only 20 minutes from downtown Skaneateles and were able to bop in and out as we saw fit. We made use of the dock for swimming everyday. The clear blue water is something I haven’t seen outside of a tropical location. We fished, played cards, snorkeled, boated and relaxed! Sirius radio was great as it was setup for 3 locations. We could listen to music while in the hot tub or out on the deck or in the house - individually or all at once. The house was clean and well described in the listing. My only advice would be to make sure you have a vehicle that is 4 wheel drive as the road in was steep at parts. We will be considering staying in this house again next year or possibly reserving the sister home next door.

Well-appointed, comfortable log cabin on wooded private lot with direct access to the southern end of remarkably clear and clean Skaneateles Lake. Stairs to private swimming/sunbathing/fishing platform area directly on the lake with convenient adjacent dock and nearby mooring for a rental boat. Fire pit area overlooking the lake. Responsive, polite property manager. Four wheel drive a must for access to the lot. Our entire family enjoyed our stay.

Quiet and relaxing
The property is exactly as described. Very beautiful lake although it can be surprisingly rough so be flexible in your planning. We took a few enjoyable day trips hiking and mountain biking during our stay when the water was less than ideal for boating. The caretaker is very nice and flexible. Don't be put off by the arrival time/place. You will want him to lead you to the property. 4 wheel drive is a must have. Overall it was exactly what we were hoping for; time to relax and enjoy spending time with our kids.

Great place to get lost
Beautiful home, definitely recommend. Very cool layout with so many decks and levels. Awesome water frontage- 1 shared dock with adjoining property for boats and 1 private dock to yourself. Very secluded- they weren’t kidding about the escort in for the first time or 4 wheel drive. House and property were clean with nice amenities. The wife enjoyed working out and yoga overlooking the lake while I drank too much coffee by the fireplace every morning. Great stay

Pauls Cabin Does Not Disappoint!
Lovely home, lots of space and charm. The property manager was super helpful getting us extra ice and firewood. The only thing I regret is not having booked a longer stay! We will certainly be back. Thank you Paul for sharing your place with us.

Stunning Lakeside Cabin
Our stay at Paul’s Cabin was wonderful. Everything was so clean upon arrival. The property’s caretaker took us to the property, and showed us around, answering any questions we might have had. The view of the lake is stunning, and we loved where the fire pit was (overlooking the lake making for wonderful mornings with coffee by the fire, and evenings outdoors roasting marshmallows overlooking the moon shining on the lake!) Such a relaxing retreat. It was so close to town, an apple orchard we visited, and a pumpkin farm, among so much else- including some awesome hikes! Yet, it was secluded enough that we really could disconnect and recharge. From adults, to our little 2 & 4 year olds who came, We absolutely loved our time here!

Pictures don’t do it justice
This lake is incredible. The cabin is expansive and awesome. We stayed with our family with small children 5-6 yr olds and could not have been happier. There are only a handful of times in life when I am not excited to get back to my more comfortable home after vacationing. I did not want to leave. This home is pretty much to a T exactly as listed. However, there are a few things I would note. 1) the pictures don’t do it justice - size, open air and lakefront is incredible. Love that feeling of isolation. 2) The theatre, exercise area and bedroom with twin beds is on the lower floor that leads out to the sun deck with hot tub. The last bedroom has “western” style doors. When I booked, it was hard to get an idea of the layout. 3) like Paul says, bring food when you arrive - at least for dinner and breakfast because you will not want to leave right away. We did a couple meals in town, but the first night we did not want to go anywhere. 4) this place is even magical in the rain. 5) Try the mailbox challenge - made it up in 12:13 mins. We can’t wait to book again and already are talking with friends about a double rental of the lodge and cabin. As a hard to please customer, this place exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend.

Life is truly better on the lake
My family of 6 adults and 3 children pivoted from a week at Yellowstone National Park to a week at Paul’s Cabin on Skaneateles Lake and couldn’t have been happier. Overall, Paul’s Cabin is an amazing property located on a beautiful lake. The cabin is thoughtfully laid out and provided plenty of space for the entire family. The decks located on the different levels allowed for all to move about and converse. A couple of summer thunderstorms rolled through during our stay and the overhanging roof over the top deck provided a great viewing area to take in the storm. The kids loved jumping off the dock and swimming in the lake. I was taken aback by how clear lake water is. The lake temperature was perfect during our late July stay. We rented a couple of kayaks from Mike (caretaker). An unexpected treat was my wife and I would kayak a bit before dusk to watch sunsets. Fortunately, during our stay the moon cycle was close to full. Sitting on the water in kayaks, watching the symphony of reds from the sunset on one end of the lake and then turning to watch the moon rise on the other end of the lake was truly breathtaking. We rented a pontoon boat from the Skaneateles marina and did some fishing and tubing. My eight year old son caught his first whopper on the south end of the lake. Grandpa (75 yrs old) also got out there for a tube. I learned how to tie a full cleat hitch knot and to secure a boat to a mooring buoy (ball). The swim to retrieve the boat provided a bit of exercise and was quite refreshing. I opted not to use the kayak to retrieve the boat. Nights typically ended around the campfire. The campfire deck is pretty neat. It’s on its own level with views of the lake. My niece played the theme song from Strangers Things on a ukulele and ghost stories were spun. An occasional marshmallow was sacrificed in the campfire to the s’mores gods. A lot of fond family memories were made at Paul’s Cabin and the week we were there was too short.

Wonderfull property just what we were looking for, seclusion with lake front views to die for! From the morning coffee in the rocking chairs on the wrap around deck to the stunning sunsets on the dock! When we finally picked from the tons of movies the Kids enjoyed a nightly movie on the projector while the grown ups unwinded in the hot tub. From the start Paul was very accommodating and was a joy to interact with. Looking forward to returning!

Peaceful Lakeside Escape
We thoroughly enjoyed the amenities, both indoor and out. The multiple decks, along with stereo speakers and hot tub, were perfect for relaxing and birdwatching. The indoor space was clean and comfortable with a recreation and workout area downstairs and beautiful claw foot tub in the main level bathroom. Kitchen was not extravagant, but got the job done. Check-in was easy, and hosts were helpful and accommodating. We would come again!

Paul’s Log Cabin
Our family gathered for a week at Paul's cabin for the first time in July. Paul's cabin is 30 mins away from the village further south on the lake where steep hillsides cut into the rocky shoreline providing breathtaking panoramic views. This does mean navigating a steep narrow road down to the cabin (best in an SUV) Inside the sturdy cabin, it was nice to have the bedrooms and bathrooms on 3 separate levels offering privacy. The great room/kitchen area which opened up to a huge deck was ideal for gatherings. A wooden walkway down to the water leads to a lakeside deck and dock and proved great for sunbathing and swimming. Paul has thought of everything and no detail overlooked. His house manager gave a great walkthrough when we arrived and was very responsive to a few simple questions that popped up during the week. We look forward to returning to Paul's cabins.
