Charming Skye Cottage | Open-Plan Retreat Near Coast & Distillery. Pet friendly!
Welcome to Coachman’s Quarters, a bright and inviting two-bedroom cottage nestled in a picturesque cul-de-sac on the beautiful Sleat Peninsula—often called the “Garden of Skye.” Perfect for couples, families, and even your four-legged companions, this warm and airy home offers a convenient base to explore the magic of the Isle of Skye. The nearby ferry at Armadale and convenient access to the Skye Bridge make exploring the island effortless.
The open-plan living space is filled with natural light and opens onto a front patio—ideal for enjoying your morning coffee or unwinding after a day of adventure. Inside, you’ll find a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable seating area with TV, bluetooth speaker and cd player, books, and games, as well as two cosy double bedrooms designed for restful nights. An optional dog gate keeps your pets safe. An additional single bed can be arranged if needed. STL License -Hi- 30389-F.
Step outside and you’re just a short walk from Torabhaig Distillery & cafe and the scenic Knock Bay where your dog can run free. Armadale Castle Gardens, the Museum of the Isles and beautiful walking routes at Leitir Fura, Armadale Hill and the Point of Sleat are all within easy reach. Alternatively explore the coastline with South Skye Sea Kayaks, meet seals and enjoy stunning views to Knoydart. Wild swim (at your own risk) at Knock Bay and other beaches.
Drive or cycle (Bring your own bikes) the remote South Skye, Ord and Talisker road for more magnificent beaches and sunsets over the Cuillin Ridge. Step back in time and walk the machair to Dunscaith Castle ruin, home to the legendary warrior Queen Scáthach who trained the hero Cú Chulainn in the arts of combat. Sign up for Gaelic short courses at UHI Sabhal Mòr Ostaig. For world class touring music and theatre acts, google SEALL, Skye's leading performing arts charity, to buy tickets for shows at An Crùbh, the Sabhal Mòr Ostaig and further afield.
Enjoy great coffee, cake and meals at An Crùbh cafe, or drop into the An Praban Bar for Gaelic whiskies, their own gin and the Eilean Iarmain Restaurant. Visit their An Talla Dearg art gallery for contemporary art Shop at Ragamuffin for upmarket knitwear, clothing, jewellery and gifts, or Kat Lenz's pottery shop for her handmade tableware and mugs.
With thoughtful touches throughout, a peaceful setting, and space for children and dogs to enjoy, this cottage offers a true home-away-from-home experience surrounded by nature.
A perfect escape for those seeking comfort, charm, and the wild beauty of Skye. I regret no camper vans.
