Bad hotel with confrontational staff who play games with your health and money

The hotel smells bad so the staff constantly sprays this air freshener around that smells like bug spray..the towels r frayed and have holes in them..my single room was very small and so was the shower..there is a big hole by the front steps that is dangerous..8 steps to get into the hotel..the breakfast was OK.

Nice, huge room with air conditioning. Beautiful bathroom. Great Canal Ring location with guest access to the canal. There were some tricky stairs, typical for hotels in the area within narrow buildings. Nearby excellent local restaurants and cafes. Would definitely book again!

This location is good if you want an affordable hotel that’s walking distance from the canal districts and from the De Pijp neighborhood. The beds were comfortable and the room fairly well equipped. Unfortunately we got woken on the first morning, with “do not disturb” on our door, because the hotel plumbing had backed up and the plumbing access was in our room. Not a great start, our shower backed up with water from the sewers and smelled terrible. The hotel did give us a room to shower in for the day which helped and the staff were great. I’d like to have liked this hotel a lot more than we did, unfortunately starting a stay with a plumbing failure affecting the overall stay isn’t going to result in a five-star experience anywhere though.

Staff helpful. Twas a solid price point for the timeframe but the room was not well cleaned. Shelving in bathroom falling apart. But the main complaint was the fact that you couldn’t open any windows other than a slight crack at the top. It wasn’t even that hot outside during my stay but the room temperature was unbearable, absolutely no airflow/ventilation.
