"We loved to stay at this hotel despite other bad reviews. Only big problem the heat. The hotel is not ready when it comes to hot days. There where conditioners but didn't really worked and the rooms where very hot at night and during the day. But breakfast was excellent and so the rest of our stay"

"Plug in sink jammed, couldn’t have a wash. So hot, no air conditioning. Shower was great. Breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice. Next door was very noisy."

"Staff were friendly throughout. Hotel was clean, well decorated and comfortable. The spa was fabulous and a welcome addition after a day of walking in Winchester. This is likely more of a personal request but since they have communal changing areas, bigger towels for those guests that just can't quite fit normal towels would be an appreciated addition - it's the little things! "First time staying at a Holiday Inn but can thoroughly recommend this one in Portsmouth. Only staying overnight before getting the ferry but wished we could stay longer. Managed to do some shopping at Gun Wharf & enjoy the surrounding area. All within easy reach to hotel. "

"The staff are really friendly. The rooms are nice and the surroundings very nice. There is a bar and restaurant. We sat out drinking beer on the patio, we used the golf driving range for a small fee. There is a swimming pool and gym on site. We didnt uae these, there is a £5 fee per use of these facilities."
