"If you are a non-smoker, do yourself a favour and skip this place. The hotel uses central air conditioning and the rooms on the non-smoking floor (level 7) smell musky with a stale cigarette stench. We had 3 rooms in my group and all the rooms were the same even when we changed rooms. In addition, most of the service staff were non-Japanese, they could not communicate well and did not appear to be well trained and quite rude. "A really clean hostel that provided a clean set of towels and toothbrush set. There’s a curtain for each bed so I had privacy. Even if it’s full house, there was ample space for luggage. There’s a comfy lounge area with water dispenser for me to chill. Don’t forget to try the curry rice. It was exceptionally good and slightly different from the regular Japanese curry. Toya lake was just across the street and the famous Waseimo store was right in front of The Toya. Two combi stores nearby if you like to get snacks. "
