Recently renovated, Blue Mountain Retreat is relaxing fall, winter, spring or summer. Located in the heart of Laurel Highlands about a mile from Kooser State Park nestled between Hidden Valley, Seven Springs and Laurel Mountain ski resorts, this family and pet friendly cabin in the woods has everything you need to enjoy an outdoor getaway. Travelers have enjoyed this cozy home in the mountains as a solo rejuvenating escape for 1, a romantic getaway for 2, a family vacation, or a get together with friends/extended family.

Nearby attractions include hiking, biking, skiing, fishing, golfing, star gazing, bird watching, restaurants, spas and more. Enjoy the many trails and ponds nearby at Kooser (2 minute drive), Laurel Hill (7 minute drive) or Forbes (12 minute drive) State Parks. Bike the GAP trail at Rockwood just 15 minutes away. Check out the local resorts for food, golf, spas, mountain biking, special events, skiing and more at Hidden Valley (5 minute drive), Seven Springs (17 minute drive), or Laurel Mountain (30 minute drive). Peruse the local towns of Somerset (15 minute drive), Ligonier (30 minute drive) or Ohiopyle (34 minute drive) for restaurants, shopping, white water rafting and trails. Local attractions also include Idlewild, Caddyshack, Living Treasures Animal Park, Laurel Caverns, Jennerstown Speedway, Fort Ligonier and more! Even though you will feel like you are in the middle of the woods in a peaceful setting, if you forget anything a gas station/convenience store is only a 2 minute drive away and a grocery store is only a 20 minute drive away.

Once you settle in, you will enjoy a backyard with a picnic table, gas grill, bonfire pit, and hot tub or the spacious kitchen and spa soaker tub in the first floor bathroom. Excellent WiFi service will help you stay connected to friends, family, and work (Gasp! Only if necessary...you should be relaxing!) or allow you to finally binge watch that series you always wanted to see. A variety of games, foosball, and darts will help you stay entertained and unplug from screens too!

3 bedrooms and 2 baths accommodates a maximum of 8 people and 2 well behaved, house trained dogs. There is an additional $30 per night pet fee when fur family joins you at the cabin. Please be sure to check the pet box when booking to pay during booking your reservation, or pay it before your arrival.

If you have additional people or pets in your party, please message to inquire about also renting Mountain Grove (with indoor treehouse kid gaming room also accommodating up to 8 people. See VRBO.com/3615517 ) adjacent to Blue Mountain Retreat. Multiple families have enjoyed renting both cabins for relaxing family reunions or birthday celebrations.

The location off of 31 makes it easily accessible year round, but far enough off the road to be peacefully tucked in the woods. A limit of 3 cars per cabin has to be maintained because there is no overflow parking available nearby (AWD or 4WD vehicles during the winter months of snow are required for ease of access). Visitors should be accounted for in your reservation.

Leave hot tub at 100 degrees
Turn off air conditioning window units in bedrooms. Turn furnace thermostat to 55. Close and lock all windows and doors.
Start a laundry washer load of towels on hot. Do not over stuff load. Leave any extra dirty towels on the floor in front of the washer.

This cabin has wonderful modern touches and amenities but still felt like a private retreat. Was a great location for going to the parks during the day and then coming back in the evening for some fire therapy and soaking in the hot tub. Host was very responsive and provided great details for enjoying the area. Would definitely consider returning for ski season.

Loved this place! The kitchen has everything you need, and the outside area was very nice. Picnic table, grill, fire pit and hot tub. Every part of the cabin was very clean, including the hot tub. Beds were very comfortable. We will definitely be back! Lisa was very responsive and gave a great list of restaurants and things to do in the area. Can't wait to enjoy more next time!

Lisa was the best communicator and hostess! She addressed any questions and provided a plethora of local activities. The house was relaxing and had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend. Great cabin for staying just a few minutes from Hidden Valley which is perfect for young children. Also went to Seven Springs twice. Plenty of room in the mudroom to dry off gear and the hot tub was lovely. Would stay again!

Cozy house with a really nice hot tube. Our family felt relaxed and at home here.

We rented the house to stay at while skiing at seven springs. It was a nice drive to and from the ski resort to the house. The mud room was great to keep all the ski gear. The hot tub eased our sore muscles from skiiing and the beds were comfy!

We loved the Mountain house!

My family and I had a great time staying at the Blue Mountain house. It had everything we needed. We loved coming home from skiing and getting to use the hot tub. There was a closet with games, puzzles and toys which were fun for my 5 and 2 year old boys.

Beautiful Mountain Getaway

We really enjoyed a relaxing weekend at the Blue Mountain Retreat! Perfect location for my family. The house is filled with everything you need to enjoy your trip. Lots to do in the area and Lisa made sure we had all the details available for a great stay.
