Private Year Round Getaway with Hot Tub--Minutes from Ski Resorts

Same great property under new ownership! Nestled in the woods, this 2 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom Cottage sleeps up to six. Perfect for couples or small families this destination will not disappoint. The cottage is located approximately 3 miles from the Hidden Valley Resort entrance. The owners recently completed a full remodel of the property! Everything is new. If you are looking for a near “off grid” experience with many of the comforts of home, Holtheim will not disappoint!

This listing requires a signed lease to finalize all guest reservations. Please do not submit a reservation request if you are unwilling to sign a short term lease agreement.

THIS PROPERTY IS LOCATED AT APPROXIMATELY 2800 FEET ELEVATION. YEAR ROUND WE RECOMMEND 4WD/AWD VEHICLES. IN THE WINTER, WE DO PLOW; HOWEVER, GUESTS SHOULD ABSOLUTELY HAVE A 4WD/AWD VEHICLE TO STAY HERE FROM NOV 1-MARCH 31!

Please Note: This home will put you close to nature, there are frequent animals close to the home. The home is under pest/rodent treatment; but, you will see all types of bugs, chipmunks, mice, flying squirrels around the property. Raccoons, deer and bear are relatively common close to the house; so, outside garbage/food should always be secured.

Security: For the safety or our guests and the protection of the property against criminal activity, all guests understand that, at a minimum, there is a “Blink” security camera type located at the front and rear entrance of the cabin to monitor access/egress and driveway areas. Security cameras are in use 24 hours a day/7 days a week.

Guests should not remove, disturb, modify or damage any part of the onsite security system. IF this occurs it will result in the loss of security deposit or added charges, which ever applies.

Nice family getaway

Each year we buy our daughters a ski trip for Christmas. This was the first year we were able to bring our dog AND have a hot tub. Super location, tucked away between some streams...not too far away from ski mountains. It worked out really well.Thanks for sharing the home.

Great cabin in the woods

Loved this cabin. Bedding was soft and comfy. Loved how quiet it was and the stream in the back yard. Loved the little special touches like granola bars and waters. I’d love to stay here again! It was really cozy! Excellent place!

In the woods

We really enjoyed our stay here. Having a bonfire in the middle of the woods at this cabin felt like paradise. Also, sitting in the hot tub and staring at the stars was a really magical experience. We had a great time here!

Ski trip and couples retreat

Area and views were beautiful, the place was cozy and rustic, running water could be heard the entire time with several creeks nearby. Bed comfy, heat worked good, and a great place to relax. Kitchen could use some love and utensils to cook with, but overall very satisfying stay. Hot tub was superb!

We loved watching the breeze in the trees from the excellent hot tub. Lots of comfy seating inside and out. The creek was lovely. Kitchen pretty well stocked.

Quick Weekend getaway

This is such a cute little, mostly private, cabin. Our visit was in the beginning of spring, the trees hadn't filled in yet, so there were a few houses visible from the front.The cabin was still winterized with plastic on the windows, so when we walked in, it was a bit stuffy, but after turning on all the fans, it became comfortable.The only real issue we had, was when we went to make the bed. The sheets that were left for us were dirty with dog hair all over them. Luckily there is a washer and dryer, plus detergent, and I was able to wash them. As soon as I put them in the washer, I sent a message to the rental company and got a return message within 25 minutes, including a refund on the linen service. they also offered to bring other sheets, but I declined that since I was already washing the others.Overall this a beautiful cabin with an amazing view, including a small creek. The hot tub was wonderful.We definitely recommend this cabin.

Laurel Highlands of Pa get away

The property is in a beautiful secluded setting near Forbes State Forest. Beware if GPS tries to take you in on Laurel Tunnel Road off of route 31, all dirt road and very confusing; instead take Short School Road off route 31. The cottage was cozy and the gas fireplace kept the place warm. The hot tub was nice. The toilet occassionally needed the plunger to flush out. The house was relatively clean, but could use a deep cleaning (lots of dead bugs on the windowsills, even on day of arrival). The outdoor seating area is beautiful and 4 large chairs are provided, although one had a broken seat and we had to clean a layer of dirt off of the chairs, even on day of check in. All in all, we recommend the property as the surrounding forest and quiet can't be beat.

Hidden Gem

This house even better than advertised! We stayed the weekend with our two dogs and had a great time! The house sits in between multiple streams giving a panoramic view of mountain beauty. There were waterfalls all around us an adorable pond in the front of the house. The decor is updated and tasteful. The gas fireplace is a an excellent touch. The hot tub is newer and very clean. The Smart television is new and there is also a DVD player with a selection of DVD’s. The hosts were helpful and accommodated a late check out. Thank you! We arrived during a heavy rain and had some trouble in the driveway. Stay away from the edges, even in 4-wheel drive. (Not their fault! Record breaking rain this year!). Otherwise a perfect trip! We will definitely be back!

Overall the property was amazing! My only complaints were the house smelled musty and there were some cobwebs. There were also hairs in the bathtub. It also would’ve been nice to have some basic hygiene amenities. But the property was lovely and peaceful. We would recommend!

Wonderful couple weekend location.
