The COVID-19 pandemic has changed how we travel, but it hasn't shut down our love of exploring. Here are a few tips on how to cope with travel's new challenges:

• Before you lock in a flight, check if any travel restrictions apply — in both your origin and destination. Get the latest updates by reviewing government websites.
• You must wear a face mask throughout your travel experience, including at security checkpoints. Be ready to lower your mask to verify your identity when asked by a TSA employee.
• Rather than handing a TSA officer your boarding pass, position it straight on the reader yourself. Then, hold it up for inspection.
• You are now allowed to take one container of hand sanitizer up to 12 oz (350 ml) in your carry-on luggage. This will need to be taken out for X-ray screening.
• To minimize handling during screening, place personal items such as your wallet, phone and belt into your carry-on instead of into the bins.
• If you're bringing food on board, put it in a clear plastic bag and then into a screening bin. This lessens the likelihood that a TSA agent will need to touch your carry-on bag or food container for closer inspection.
