Mountain View Home w/ Fantastic Setting, Fireplace, WiFi, W/D & Two Decks

  • Fantastic views await at this three-bedroom home in the Upper Alpine area of South Fork, beautifully situated in a gorgeous, quiet setting surrounded by mountains. You can ride your ATV right from the house, or spend your days venturing to the nearby Wolf Creek Ski Area (22 miles southwest) or exploring the adjacent Rio Grande National Forest. Enjoy the convenience of a private washer/dryer to take care of your clothes after a day of outdoor adventures, as well as decking on two sides of the house where you can take your morning coffee or evening glass of wine, all while enjoying the mountain views. Most of the house is on one main floor, with its natural wood walls, fully equipped kitchen, and fireplace with a floor-to-ceiling stone hearth. The exception is the loft room, which offers two twin beds and is accessible only by a winding staircase. The three bedrooms have one king-size bed, one queen-size bed, and two twin beds, respectively.

Great Location

My wife and I were looking for a nice, quiet mountain town for our anniversary. For us, this was the perfect spot. Very nice home, with a great feel. Great views from the front porch and living room windows makes for a nice setting. Easy access to the trails, directly from this property, to the Rio Grande National Forest make it even better. We took our Polaris RZR and explored for 3 days in the surrounding mountain forest.

Perfect for a short mountain getaway

We had a great time, the house was clean and the kitchen was fully stocked. Also loved the views from the main living area! We had some problems with the big space heater near the bathroom (the flame wouldn't stay on) but after we got a fire in the living room, we didn't need it anymore. It's very close to Wolf Creek too, which was the main reason we came. We'll come back!

Excellent Mountain View

The views of mountains are amazing & we loved having deer visit our front yard. We took morning walks down to the river and really enjoyed the area. The town grocery & liquor stores were very close, just remember to bring your own reusable grocery bags. The 30 minutes to Wolf Creek Ski resort was an easy drive & scenic. Definitely recommend this ski resort! The house looks a little roomier in the photos than it actually is, but it was great for our family of 4. The property manager was easy to get ahold of and was pleasant to work with. The trash drop off is at a different location in the town, so a little inconvenient, but would not deter us from staying. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and recommend this cabin.

Nice Cabin

We had a nice time staying at this cabin with a few minor hiccups. The whole place is clean, view is very nice. For throwing your garbage you have to drive 3.5 miles to the dumpster. Not all electrical outlet works the 2 outlet by the front window doesn’t work, my husband has to work while we were there and it’s a good thing we bring extension cord to plug his computer on the outlet on the side of the fire place.When we got there I let my dogs out of the truck and the yard has a lot of dog poo, my husband ended up picking up after our dog and other peoples dog. No grill even though it say on the listing, make sure you bring or buy your own fire wood you can’t use the wood they have on the property. On the listing I read there are 2 coffee maker, a normal brew coffee and a Keurig I told the host I only see the keurig and she told me there should be a 12 cup coffee brew and a keurig to avoid the asking back and forth I bough my own coffee maker. In my previous experience if a property is manage by a company I only speak to 1 person from the time I checked in till I checked out, here you will speak with different people when you have a question. Also, the patio needs new furniture. Overall it was a nice relaxing stay with some rain.

The house was perfectly clean, nicer than expected, and area very quiet. It was just what we needed for the family reunion. It is an older house, recently remodeled but in top shape. We would stay here again.

Great house for family vacation

Absolutely breathtaking view!

Very clean and spacious house that met all our needs for our ski trip lodging. The views of the mountains right in front of the house are amazing! Just be sure to bring warm clothing for indoors and maybe some slippers. The space heaters provided for very toasty bedrooms, but the kitchen and main areas stay quite chilly in the winter. We will be back for sure!

Great Location and Roomy Cabin

We enjoyed our stay in July of 2020. Cabin was roomy, with great views of the mountains and access to riding our mountain bikes from the house up the forest roads. Our 2 kids loved the loft. Only suggestions would be to add a shower head with a second head on a hose to wash children in the shower and maybe an electric fan vent above the stove. Every time we cooked the smoke detector in the hall would go off, no big deal, we just opened windows. Beds were comfy and reclining couch was nice in living room. We are already planning to book this cabin again next summer.
