"When the Alaska Marine Highway System ferry arrived over an hour after midnight, hotel staff were there to quickly check in a queue of weary travelers. Room was clean. Our cooler was low on ice, so the full-size refrigerator in the kitchenette was welcome. Ate our own food for breakfast to get on the road quickly next morning. Clean room with a tub, always bonus."

"I love old hotels. The room was clean and neat. The bathroom was clean and easy to use. Staff was helpful even when I couldn't get a ride from the airport they were so helpful. Then at night .....I had pot wafting up from the street level with if coming in through closed older windows. Then there was a party on the street from the liquor store across the street & the dispensaries. The street cleaner does come at 4 AN to clean up. Maybe a room at the back of the building or in the east side...

"Spent 2 night's here.... great little hotel in Haines. Walking distance to stopping and food. Staff friendly, even rented a car for our stay from the hotel. Beds super comfortable! (Best beds for a hotel I've been in and i travel alot) stayed in a 2 double on harbor side, lots of room, 2 fans, fridge and coffee pot. Window opens for nice breeze.... View amazing, room clean.... only down spot was tv had low signal and reception was bad, carpet needs cleaning and toilet was not super...

"This property is really run down and could greatly benefit from a renovation or room refresh. The rooms are stuffy and warm, mattresses are worn down, and the black our curtains do t fully close, making sleeping in 18 days of daylight challenging. The highlight of this property is Kelli the concierge. She was friendly, informed, and honest about which excursions would be best for us. Kelli was wonderful, while the property beyond her was underwhelming, "
