Wonderful room in a great location

Our stay was perfect. We were only in Split for 2 days and Bastion couldn't have been a better place. Perfect location right by the old city..close to tons of shops and restaurants. The room was modern and well appointed. Our host Toma was excellent. He met us at the front door and carried our luggage all the way to the room. A short while later he sent us texts with recommendations for dining, shopping, beaches, nightlife etc. Very helpful. A perfect stay.

Wonderful!

Loved our stay at Bastion. Do see that it is on the 4th floor. But the owner hauled our luggage up! Older style but clean and very well kept. You are in the Old Town section so it’s just foot traffic, no cars. (Although owner would help you with that).

Inside the room is nice, basic, clean and convenient. Not “luxury “, but ok. Everything I needed for a couple days except the hot water pot didn’t work. A balcony was advertised but you can’t go outside and the French doors are hard to lock. The air conditioner remote was difficult to operate. I never met a manager or owner but the communicated fine on WhatsApp. It’s only a few rooms and a young man met me the first day to give me keys and carry my luggage up 4 high stories to the space. That was very appreciated because it’s actually 8 flights of steps! Note the outside of the building and lobby is quite shabby, dirty and poorly lit. It’s a typical apartment building with many other tenants and not a reflection of the condition of the hotel rooms. I would suggest to the owner to clean up and maintain the outside a bit and put a motion light at the front door. There were shady guys around the front area, one was begging, another approached me and wouldn’t leave me alone, and the vibe was generally weird on that corner. I made sure not to stay out late. Otherwise the area didn’t feel unsafe, just right in front of the door where it was dark. There were usually other people were around.

Cute clean spot in Old Town Split

We had a lovely stay at Bastion. Don’t be fooled the area directly outside the apartment as the interior is very nice. It was a little tricky to get inside but they were quite responsive via WhatsApp. Overall the room and clean and comfortable and had great AC. The area is very central to everything you need in Split. Great value!
