Very helpful. They arranged transportation from the airport and had a bottle of sparing wine in our room for us. Love the convenience to the Silver gate and waterfront.

Clean, safe and spacious room. Updated and very nice accommodation. The owner met me and carried my luggage up the stairs. Located on the top floor of the building. No elevator, so not suitable for people with limited mobility.

Lovely room (number 1), not much of a view, but comfortable well equipped room, fabulous shower. Tony & his wife who manage the property are lovely people & very helpful & both work very hard! Good breakfast at nearby Luxor restaurant. Definitely recommend the property & would stay there again if travelling to Split.

Loved our week here. Stunning place to be, perfectly situated for spending some time in the Old town of Split. The stairs aren't ideal but they keep you fit !

The apartment is excellent, modern, clean, with exceptional views in an equally amazing location, right in front of the Silver Gate, at walking distance from the harbor, where we parked our car.

Good property location overshadowed by other flaws
We chose this property as other people had positive experiences. Unfortunately, we did not have a pleasant time staying here. We arrived on a Sunday. The location was good and there is parking nearby if you're driving, however you have to inform the property in advance to reserve limited spots (this was not clear when booking). No lift in the building and unfortunately unlike other visitors, nobody was there to help us with 2 big luggages up 4 floors. Check-in was easy over an intercom, the man said he would greet us in 30 minutes but never showed up. Internet was not working, again said he would fix it but never did. We booked a room with city view but that was not the case, do not bother paying extra for this. Entrance to the property smelled awful but that might be out of the owner's control. The cleaning staff was polite which was a breathe of fresh air. Finally as a Silver member we were entitled to a bottle of wine but we never received it. Overall, an unenjoyable experience during tourist off season, one can only imagine how disappointing it will be during peak season.

A localização é excelente. Não tivemos dificuldade para achar o prédio, é logo na entrada da old town. O host nos deu todas as indicações necessárias e foi extremamente gentil no nosso check in. Nos ajudou a encontrar um lugar perfeito para estacionar o carro (free parking). O quarto era extremamente limpo e amplo. O único ponto é que são 3 andares de escada, não recomendado para muitas malas ou quem tem problema de mobilidade.

Location is excellent, just outside the Deocletian Palace and by the local market. Complementary wine was poor quality but the manager was great at arranging airport transportation. The room and view were lovely. You do have to climb 79 steps to get to it though!

Brilliant sea view in central location
Brilliant stay in the sea-view room with a balcony. Great service, arranged reasonably-price airport transfer for us and met us at the taxi to show us to the hotel. Easy to contact staff via What’sApp. Gorgeous room with AC and amazing views, good amenities. The hotel is three flights up stairs, so be prepared to climb, but completely worth it if you’re able. Perfect central location within a two minute walk of everything. We even heard opera from our balcony in the evenings!

It is on the 4th floor and no lift. On a very hot day with 2 suitcases it was hard work getting to the top. I was soaked with perspiration and then had to call and wait for the host to come and let me access the apartment. No ideal if you’re 66

Very nice room, looks newly remodeled. Very clean. Lots of hot water, good AC. Even had a water cooler with bottled water so we could refill. Marin (our host) was very helpful setting up an airport transfer, and that worked well. And it was less expensive than a regular taxi. Uber was probably cheaper but we heard warnings that you can't always get one early in the morning. One caveat, its 80 stairs from the street to the room. Good exercise but not good if you really need an elevator. We didn't get our free bottle of wine, but we didn't remind them either. Wine is so cheap there !

Great location
Rooms are 4th floor walk up...room was nice and AC worked well. Excellent location jyst outside wall with everything needed closr by including the Riva walk area. Room was being cleaned when I arrive so i question whether the room was empty the night before following covid recommendations.

Perfect accommodation! Gold Star.
Such great value...and quality and service too! The staff picked us up from our car park and took us to the hotel door, the room was spacious, clean and had great bed and shower...plus a nice balcony and view...all 10 seconds walk from the walled city! Checkout was equally amazing with a lift back to our car and luggage loaded in the boot for us! Breakfast was included along with parking fee and a bottle of wine...faultless!

Great Location for easy access to markets, port and palace sights. While we did expect the 80 steps up to get there, thanks to other reviews, the air conditioning unit was barely adequate to cool the entire space, and there is no luggage storage space if you depart in afternoon post checkout. The staff and breakfast nearby were wonderful.

This is not a real hotel. No reception, 5 rooms at the 4th floor with no elevator. Not indicated to older people or people with disabilities. We have to ask a street vendor to call the owner to open the door. Not a 4 star hotel.

If you are looking for Luxury, look elsewhere
This is a tough one to review. The luxury rooms appear to consist of four remodeled rooms on the top floor of an old building. The renovation was done well, the rooms appear to be very clean. However, the building entrance looks sketchy and you have to be prepared to lug your suitcases up 7 flights of stairs (there is no elevator.) The a/c worked great, but there was only a single sheet on the bed which kept getting entangled. Not a good night's sleep.

Nice, room with luxury bathroom but beware this is only for fit people as the rooms are on the 4th floor and there's no lift. Stipe, the porter is very helpful but is only present at the start and end of your stay. He carried our cases up and organised a taxi driver to bring them down on departure.

Loved this property
Everything was perfect, excellent location right in the old town of Split, amazing view from our balcony. Excellent service, we were picked up by a golf cart from the car parking. 3 floors with no lift so not suitable for some people but the luggage was carried to the room for us. The breakfast was amazing, in a restaurant near the property. Would definitively stay at la Porta again

The position of this hotel was perfect, smack bang in the centre. The view from our balcony was also fabulous. Apart from the scenic view it was also wonderful to see the city wake up with the market stall holders setting up for the day.

Right on the edge of the Diocletian Palace, the property exceeded our expectations though we spent 2.5 days in Split. Marin and his colleague were professional and hospitable. We appreciated their going the extra mile to assist us. Of course, we'd stay there again!

Excellent, top location but mind the steps
Excellent location and, if you come by car, easy transfer was provided to the close by parking lot. Very friendly staff! Only thing to note is that the rooms are on the top floor with no elevator but the staff were kind carrying the luggage both ways. Breakfast was very good and was served in a cafeteria three minutes away.

Hotel situated in a perfect location. The poor points are there is no lift and you have to climb 7 flights of stairs to the rooms.. The room itself was small with a tight shower space... requested some more coffee which never appeared so only had two coffee sachets for the whole 3 night stay... bed comfy and room tidied daily
