Windridge is a perfect 2-bedroom, 2-bath home featuring incredible views, a hot tub and outdoor garden shower. The home is nestled on a ridge overlooking Coral Bay, Hurricane Hole, East End of St John and the tiny island of Leduc.

Enjoy the spacious and breezy living and dining area, a fully equipped kitchen for dining at home, on site washer & dryer and all the necessities you need for your home to feel comfortable and connected.



The luscious tropical garden is set out on a brick patio, furnished with a dining area, hot tub and gas powered BBQ grill.



The home is located just a mile and a half from Coral Bay, where you can provision, explore beaches and experience local dining.

The upper portion of the home consists of the primary bedroom (Queen bed), primary kitchen, living room, laundry, bathroom, outdoor shower, open deck and garden patio with a hot tub.



The lower portion of the home is the 2nd bedroom, which has a small living space with couch and tv, bathroom w/ semi-private shower (see pictures), kitchenette and covered patio. This bedroom can have either a king or twin beds.

Amazing vacation at Windridge

We loved this property for our getaway. The outdoor spaces and views are spectacular, and indoor spaces are comfortable and well equipped. The property managers were very helpful and provided a guidebook we used often to prep for the trip. We would love to stay again.

Brilliant

One of the best places we stayed ever in the USVI. Absolutely gorgeous view from the terrace, clean house, amazing yard, quiet neighborhood. We just love this place. Be aware of curve roads us and down to get there and house is on the hill, there are some mosquitos. But it is absoluitely worth to stay there! Buy groceries, so you could cook home at least at morning to go to the beaches early to get parking. Thank you to the owners, we were happy there. Igor & Marina, Chicago, Il, April 2025.

The views were amazing with every comfort of home!

Best place yet that we have rented on the island. It had every amenity that you could imagine! View is unbeatable! The back garden was filled with hummingbirds, sugar birds, lizards and an occasional goat!

Perfect View

The location had the perfect view and even though it was hot, the lower deck had constant wind which made for wonderful mornings/afternoons. Once the sun was behind the mountain, the top deck was wonderful (we used it almost every day for cocktail hour and dinner. Communication with the property manager was easy and could not have been better. We were there in the off season so some locations in Coral Bay were closed, but grocery stores were still open and we didn't feel we missed out on anything, Cruz bay was only about 30 mins away. The north side of the islands was closer and absolutely amazing!

So the views are awesome, during the day, but my favorite was watching the moon and the stars shining on the water. Its a really nice place. We got in the hot tub almost every night ( because we didn’t go out very much, it was so nice there at the cottage. The only thing to complain about was the roads. Takes some getting used to driving on the left side of the road. We plan to go back and hope to stay at the same place. The outdoor shower was really nice too!! Highly recommend!!

We had an incredible time on St John celebrating our 20th Anniversary. Our stay at Windridge played a huge part in making this trip so very special. Our hosts Karen and Emma went above and beyond, finding us a taxi driver to bring us all the way to the property when our flight was delayed by over 4 hours and we arrived after 10 pm and couldn’t get our rental car after 8. The views were absolutely breathtaking, and we enjoyed coffee during sunrise every morning, cocktails on the sundeck every evening. The shady patio area was just a magical spot to enjoy dinners in, followed by a dip in the hot tub. The outdoor shower was a highlight, and the big treefrog who lived in the seashell, the little geckos, and the giant hermit crabs who’d visit just added to the charm. The interior was comfortable, clean, and offered beautiful views at every turn. We appreciated that Windridge was fully stocked- the kitchen had everything we could need, and there were beach chairs, mats, coolers, pool noodles, and beach towels available to use. We also appreciated having a washer and dryer. Windridge was a wonderful home base to return to after exploring the stunning beauty of St John, and we’re so thankful to have had this experience!

Perfect Place to Explore St John

My wife and I absolutely loved this property. We woke up before 6 am every day to "take in" the amazing sunrise over the British Virgin Islands from the beautiful deck. We loved exploring the island, but when we were at our VRBO we loved spending time on the deck. This includes spending peaceful nights gazing up to the heavens; virtually no light pollution...it was a spectacular star gazing experience every night. We felt very much at home with everything we needed. Karen was a very gracious host and helped make our 40th Anniversary getaway very special. As advertised, you'll need a Jeep to traverse the steep road and driveway, but I felt comfortable driving it after a few times. We weren't sure about the outdoor shower when we read about it, but we loved it! It was a new experience that added to our adventure AND it was very private. We loved snorkeling, hiking, kayaking and paddleboarding on St. John. We loved coming back to Freemans Ground after a big day. I'm so happy that I picked this place...and I can easily "transport" back to see the gorgeous views.

Perfect Mix of Water and Woods

My husband and I came to celebrate 21 years of marriage. I considered another rental that was more of a tree house setting. I love the idea of being surrounded by lush landscape. My husband wants to see the water. This house was the perfect combination. We spent most of our time on the lounge chairs overlooking the water. However, the private patio, outdoor shower, and hot tub gave you a totally different vibe on the back patio surrounded by lush trees and island wildlife. We only needed the top floor and it was the perfect size for the two of us. The kitchen had plenty of the basic cooking ingredients like spices, oils, vinegars, etc. My only word of caution is the driveway. You absolutely need a Jeep or 4x4. It took me a few days to get used to the incline of the driveway. Take it slow and low and you'll be fine. We stayed in October and there was only the bar in Coral Bay as a dining option. Miss Lucy's, the swim up Taco bar and Skinny Legs were all closed. The upside was we felt like the island was all ours some days. We had Denis Bay and Reef Bay totally to ourselves on the days we went there. If you go to St. John for nature and adventure, this house will surely please you. It's quiet yet close to great trails.

The View! The View! The View!

We visited Estate at Freeman's Ground, overlooking the boats in Coral Bay and the mountains beyond the first week of March. The home was perfect for the two of us. It has unmatched views from the deck - perfect for watching sunrises, sunsets and everything in between. The home was very well provisioned, with a well-stocked kitchen (including a full liquor cabinet of leftovers which we added to when we left and a cabinet full of spices), as well as everything we needed for the beach. Personal, artistic touches were everywhere, including an antique sewing machine with drawers filled with notions from the time. Every room overlooks the water, including a cozy reading nook which doubles as another bed. My favorite was the outdoor shower (no indoor shower), which was a work of art, with a three-sided stone enclosure with embedded shells. The hot tub was also great after a day at the beach. The home was convenient to the beaches and restaurants and we felt more like locals being on the quieter side of the island. A wonderful slice of paradise!

Tranquil and Beautiful

O wet all we highly recommend. Great location on Coral Bay. Much less activity then Cruze Bay which we prefer. Don’t let the distance from Cruze bay fool you. Maho Beach and all the other popular beaches are very accessible and a beautiful little drive to get there. Also close to three of our favorite snorkeling reefs. Hanson Bay, Salt Pond and Waterlemon Cay. We’ve stayed at several different places over the years on St John and this place is one of the better places to stay in that price range. Clean and well equipped.

Birds, breezes, and privacy up above Coral Bay

This was our first time back to St. John in five years after the hurricanes, and now hopefully, after the pandemic has passed. Coral Bay is still our favorite part of the island and Wind Ridge turned out to be a perfect blend of privacy high above the bay with wildlife all around, and plenty of amenities like the private garden area and heated jetted spa for relaxing after a day of snorkeling and beach. The villa is high enough to catch all the cool breezes while only still less than 5 minutes away from Skinnylegs , and Rhumb Lines, and 10 minutes from Miss Lucy's; but the villa also has the full kitchen and outside grill to have leisurely meals in your island home away from home if you wish. Karen and Kim were quick to respond to any questions or needs, and thanks to both for their attention. We are already planning our return to St. John, and hopefully Wind Ridge, in the near future.
