The elevator was broken. My mom is 85 and recovering from a fractured pelvis. We had to carry 3 suitcases up to the 3rd floor.

The room I was given was infested with bugs. There were bugs in the bed as well as another persons hair. Multiple bugs were in the bathroom and had burrowed into the towels and toilet paper as well. I Canceled the room and ended up going to another hotel. I requested a refund and they refused to refund me my money back. Horrible experience overall and will not be booking any rooms here again.

Cute little boutique downtown. Walkable to all downtown shops, restaurants and pier. There is restaurant and bar onsite, a plus. The only thing I did not like was no refrigerator or microwave was available.

The hotel is close enough to walk to restaurants and the night life, but situated in a quiet neighborhood away from the noisy partiers.. I have stayed there before and will stay again!

We had a fantastic stay, the hotel was within walking distance of the Blues Festival we attended. The Staff was the crown jewel of our stay, sadly The Exchange is closing in a few months and will be demolished to make room for a high rise.

Bathrooms could not have been smaller, and there was no maid service during our four-day stay. Neither was particularly problematic, and the location is excellent. The staff was very helpful. I wish the bar stayed open longer.

Overall it wasn't horrible, but the first night my TV didn't work (someone partially unplugged it at the back of the set and it was up to me to figure it out) My room phone was dead. Also, no one told me you had to request to have your room cleaned. So it wasn't. I also think, from what I saw for pricing online earlier Saturday before I checked in, was a lot lower than what I was charged. I saw the same room in the $135 range and I was charged $245 & $169. I guess they're tearing the place down, so maybe they'll be better when they start from scratch.

Good bed. The location to Vinoy Park and restaurants good. Not so good: Broken elevator $25 a day parking, no self parking (need to move vehicle every 2 hrs) Shower head drizzled. However, they did replace. Short shower curtain, floor got very wet. Tiny bathroom. No blow-dryer MUST ask for clean room service. We put towels out and came back to no towels. We were told you need to request room service. Curtains ripped, old and dirty, almost moldy looking (gross) Complimentary coffee in lobby was cold in am (both days) no breakfast offered. Dirty hall carpets. Overall If you want a good bed and location this place will work. If you want anything else probably not.

The pool was dirty and The elevator was not working but the staff was Amazing. The staff made this place a gem! Again, the staff needs a raise, they were amazing!! I would come again and hopefully the pool will be vacuumed and ready.

The property itself is very dated. The bathroom was tiny, but worse was tbe poor shower setup, the water damage evident because of the poor setup, the lack of water pressure and overall condition of the sink and shower. The staff was friendly and desk folks helpful but with the age of the building, the broken elevator and just very tight quarters it was not at all wortb what I paid for it.

Normally, I am a huge fan of historic properties, but this one either needs to sync a lot of money into it or sell it to the highest bitter. The staff had mediocre customer service skills. There was no hot water there was mold in the bathroom.

No warning that the elevator was out. Had to carry luggage up and down multiple levels of steps through the building. There were dead insects in the overhead light fixture, black mold in the shower grout, peeling paint in the room. The “gym” was 90 degrees, staff didn’t ask how my 2 night stay was when checking out. Had to share this information with the staff while another guest was listening in at the front desk. The linens were clean. This was the only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1.

The property is definitely in need of TLC. It’s worn out and not well maintained at all. The staff simply say it’s old .. Well sorry but old doesn’t mean you can’t look after it and maintain the facility for the guest. The pool was disgusting with everything floating in it and the pool furniture is worn out and mismatched. Stay clear is all we can advise!

Elevator doesn’t work so you have to hoof your luggage up stairs and down hallways. Ice machine busted so no cold drinks, no coffee in the mornings (also broken). Room had mold in it, the AC wouldn’t shut off and our room was an ice box. Staff not friendly. Never again.

Terrible odor in my room. They tried an Ozone Machine and it was a little better. But it returned. I suggested something wrong with the AC. But never sent maintenance to check. Had to sleep with AC off. The hotel was booked. They refunded me $50. But that is insufficient. I was busy for the 3 days there, so I only slept in the room.

Great option in downtown St. Pete's. Very friendly staff. Walk to loads of bars and restaurants. Clean and tidy room. Bathroom is tiny and aged but works. Could be better by design with a modern re-fit. But all adds to the charm of this lovely old hotel.

If you like historic buildings and are on a budget the Exchange hotel is for you. I however do not care for historic buildings or was on a budget for this business event and stayed there for one night only. I first clue that something was a miss with that the elevator was broken. At that point I should have changed my hotel stay. The rooms to me looked like they were remodeled using habitat for humanity supplies. To some it all up my colleague said to me, he thinks we were hotel catfished from the pictures online. The staff were very nice and the hotel was close to downtown.

Nice location and friendly, efficient staff, including lobby restaurant and bar. But no breakfast available. Downside: $25/day extra for parking; no room cleaning or replacement of coffee and cups; elevator out of order, necessitated me taking a ground floor room; room nicely sized and furnished, but toilet poorly located right up against shower; flush too weak, sometimes had to be repeated to empty. Given these, I thought the cost was high for the value received. I’d look elsewhere before staying there again.

I had to pay $25 dollars for valet service. The man working the overnight shift was talking on his phone finally asking what i needed. He kept talking on the phone trying to find my keys. For $25 dollar valet service he just gave me my keys and told me the car was. It was early in the morning and as a women i did not feel safe. He should have brought my car to me.

Disliked: Cleanliness, property conditions & facilities
The outside and lobby are nice and upgraded. However, the rooms are small and need an improvement, the room looked neat but not clean. The bathrooms are small and shelves are leaning from wall. The elevator was not working with no effort to accommodate our luggage. The best thing I could state is the location was good.

Well it was very small rooms. Bar wasent open and no food on Mondays. Elevator didnt work
