Villa Marina Vista
A beautiful beachy 2bedroom/2 bath unit with cathedral ceilings overlooking the azure waters of the Caribbean Sea. Watch the sunrise from the wrap balcony, enjoy 180 degree views of the islands (from Tortola to St John to St Croix), or sip on a nice cold drink after a day at the beach watching the boats pull into harbor. Enjoy the breathtaking views of the turquoise Caribbean waters from every room in this totally updated condo. Watch the moon rise or sun rise from the spacious balcony, or even your own bed! Two well-appointed bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms flank the kitchen and living area with vaulted ceilings. New A/C units in all rooms. Accommodates 4 adults comfortably in the bedrooms, with room for 2 more on the sleeper sofa in living room. Enjoy a dip in the secluded pool shared by only a few other units in the complex and catch some rays on the sun loungers. Villa comes with WiFi and DISH network tv with all your favorite premium channels, plus Smart TVs so you can stream Netflix, Prime, or Sling TV as well. Xbox One, DVDs, and board games are also available for those looking to unwind after a long day on the beach or in case you happen to catch that one rainy day we have each year. Token operated laundry is available on-site. A free wash and dry are provided for guests. Additional tokens can be purchased for a nominal fee if requested at check-in. Your personal Concierge will be available at time of arrival to answer any questions and show you around the villa. They can also help with recommendations while you are on island, or if there are any issues during your stay. The small port town of Red Hook is just .2 miles down the hill and gets you to the numerous award winning restaurants and bars. If you are feeling adventurous, the passenger and car ferry boats to St John are within .5 miles and delivering you to the white sand beaches of the more quaint St John virgin isle. Redhook also offers great shopping, day charter boat tours to the BVIs, fishing excursions for big game fish, and diving tours for those seeking some more fun and sun while visiting. Villa has ample parking right by the front entrance and is accessible by taxis as well. Upon arrival at the airport guests can take a taxi to the villa or rent a car. A car rental is highly recommended and will be more cost effective over the course of your stay. Having your own vehicle will provide more freedom and driving on the left hand side of the road is only weird for the first few minutes ;) Rates are based on 2 guests. Additional guests after 2 are subject to $25/night per person fee plus tax (with the exception of holidays).

We found this condo to be exactly as described, which is to say it was very comfortable, very convenient to Red Hook and ferries and had beautiful views. The condo was completely updated and stocked with modern appliances and gas grill, silverware and dishes, plenty of bath and beach towels, toiletries, etc. The air conditioners weren't brand new, but they would get the bedrooms cold in minutes, so it would be a mistake to replace those. The beds were very comfortable - I stay in a lot of hotel beds for work and these beds were as comfortable as any I have ever found elsewhere.
The view from the porch was also striking- it was an enjoyable way to spend morning and evening hours, either reading or watching the ferries and sailboats come in and out of the harbor.
As far as the service, Jillian could not have been any more responsive. I contacted her as we got off the plane and she was waiting for us at the car rental place before we had been given the keys to the jeep. She then led us on the 30 minute drive to the condo, which was quite nice and most appreciated by the driver as the roads on St Thomas are not at all like the States. She walked us through everything when we arrived at the condo and gave us her cell phone number to call if we had any issues. We had a few questions later and asked her by text and she responded immediately with helpful answers.
Yes, there were a few leaves in a pool, but as none of them were poisonous or would bite, it wasn't an issue. We were there 5 days and did see someone servicing the pool and deck twice. Also, although it is a short walk to town, the hill is pretty steep and requires that you be in good shape if you want to walk back uphill after going to Red Hook.
All in all, it's a great place to stay in the VI and I would recommend it to anyone without hesitation.

Stunning views overlooking the harbor, with spacious rooms and a living room. Really close to great beaches and the ferry to St. John. We had a blast! (the hill up to the property was doable, but definitely provided some laughs for us as we walked slowly after a day in the sun!)

This property was perfect for us! The views were amazing! The condo was clean, and had everything we needed to cook. We did not have a car but was able to either walk down the road to shops and restaurants or get a cab to drive us where we wanted to go. The road is very steep, but manageable. The location was great! We would stay here again.

We loved the comfy and chic veranda stretching across the entire unit. It’s perched high over the busy Red Hook marina with views extending out to St John and beyond. The decor, appliances and amenities were fantastic. This is one vacation rental we were truly sorry to leave! We had to do a little maneuvering to get our rental car up the steep hill to get there but it worked out fine. The manager, Lisa, was very helpful and easy to reach.

We love Red Hook and this is the perfect location for staying in Red Hook. The views are as spectacular as shown. You can step out to that incredible view from either bedroom or the living room. Quick drive or even walk to the restaurants, Moe's Fresh Market, the ferries, or boating excursions to the other Virgin Islands. Residence was clean, comfortable and well cared for. Although this has ultra quiet mini-split air conditioners in each room, we always opted for the fresh air and island breezes. We loved it the minute we walked in and couldn't have had a nicer stay. The owner, Steve and property manager, Lisa were great to deal with. Would strongly recommend this to anyone. (Don't miss Island Time Pub with its open air seating, good food and atmosphere!)

We enjoyed our time not only in beautiful St. Thomas but in the condo as well. This condo exceeded our expectations! The attention to detail was appreciated! Property manager, Lisa, was very accommodating, helpful and responsive. She gave recommendations and answered all of our questions quickly. The condo was beautiful and well equipped to meet our needs. We would definitely recommend this unit and will stay there again when we return to the island.

This small Villa has been completely redone. It is beautiful and very comfortable. Everything you need is right down the hill from the Villa, Moe's grocery, Tap and Still burgers (which are great BTW) and other restaurants. Some of the other travelers said they would walk up and down the hill to the Villa. Well walking down no problem, but up, as with most things on the islands, is very steep. We rented a car and loved having it. We took the car ferry to St John and enjoyed most of the beaches they had to offer. Both the car and people ferries are just down the Villa as well. So a very convenient location. Be aware if you rent from Hertz they will not let you take your car to St John. We rented from Budget. I loved sleeping with the patio door open, so nice.

Family of 5 from Cleveland stayed for a few nights. Very nice place. View on the patio is fantastic!!!!! Very close to restaurants in Red Hook. Dinner at Pesci's was very good and the burgers at Tap-n-Still are awesome (both of these are very close). I would very much recommend. The only reason for the 4 instead of 5 was because we had a little trouble finding parking one night as cars filled the side of the drive with no viable spots. I almost called owner for alternatives; but we made-do; but all-in-all i would recommend to others.

As mentioned in all the posts - the view is incredible. Loved sitting on the balcony and having coffee in the morning or drinks at night. Location is great - town of Red Hook at bottom of driveway (about 1/4 mile walk). Ferry, grocery store, restaurants and more all close. Noticed the comment on the tv system. I would say probably true, did not look like the easiest to navigate - but then again we did not watch tv once in our week there. We were there in July, very hot and very muggy - a better air conditioning system than the two window units located on top of the beds would have been nice. Overall - nice place and I would recommend.

This was a great rental. The view was great and the pool was nice to have too. It was a quick drive/walk down the hill to shopping a great bars/ restaurants. The ferry was very close as well to get to St John. Both had beautiful beaches. We rented a car and used the cabs. I would recommend a rental even if you don't use it all the time it was nice to have...Great time!

The view is incredible. It would be hard to beat anywhere on the island. However, the house has issues. 6 receptacles are dead. I checked all breakers and the issue must be wiring. This kept the Dish TV system from working and problematic when charging devices. The 1990s projection system should be replaced with a regular TV. The guest bed needs replaced. Cleaning was cursurary and should be more thorough. This could be a 4 with an afternoon of work. Still, the view and location in Red Hook is why this house should be considered.

I just want to share my experience about my vacation. My wife and I stayed in this beautiful condo overlooking the most beautiful bay I have ever seen. I never imagined it would be nearly as pretty as the pictures portrayed it to be. You won't believe your eyes when you step out onto the balcony. The ferry to St John brings you to historic tours and hiking trails not to mention snorkeling and swimming on the most pristine beaches in the world. The restaurants and nightlife were a short walk away. Thank you so much for sharing your amazing home with us. Everything you would possibly need and more was provided. What I really appreciated was how modern and clean your unit is. The host couldn't be friendlier or more helpful with her many recommendations of fun adventures and places to dine.

My husband and I stayed at Villa Marina Vista with another couple we had a blast! Waking up to the view was enough to give this place 5 stars. It was exactly as pictured, clean, and well kept. The amenities were awesome as well. The grill was very convenient and we made good use of it. They had everything you would need for a beach day (hammocks, beach chairs, towels) and enough to keep you busy for a night in (large selection of DVD's and games). It is within walking distance if you want to enjoy the night life Redhook has to offer or if you want to take a day trip to St. John or the BVI. If you have the chance I would recommend taking the ferry to St John for the day. The beaches are AMAZING! All of the reviewers will tell you to rent a car. I would suggest that if you have small children, have trouble walking long distances, or want to explore the island more than 1 of 2 days. We did it without renting a car and it wasn't a problem. It is quite a hike but if you like a little adventure and good exercise every day you will enjoy it (I did). We did rent a car when we were exploring St. John. L&L Jeep rental was great to work with. We didn't use the grocery store that is recommended by the house manager because that was little too far to walk but we did use Moe's which is within walking distance and it had everything we need to make meals and plenty of adult beverages as well. You will pay an extremely steep price for groceries (or at least more than we do in the states) so just be mindful of that. All in all, it was a great time and we would recommend Villa Marina Vista to anyone!

Overall, this was a great experience and place to stay! The condo was exactly like the pictures and the amenities were wonderful, the kitchen was stocked with very nice dishes and pans and the beds were very comfortable and everything was very clean and well maintained. Our favorite thing was to have a relaxing breakfast overlooking the incredible view of Red Hook harbor and listening to the birds and feeling that sea breeze. It was a great location as it was very convenient to the beaches and ferries and the fun places in Red Hook but then we felt we could get away from it by going up the hill to the condo to relax. Overall, a wonderful experience and probably one of the best rentals and most beautiful views I have ever experienced! Thank you!

Great villa!! The view and location were unbelievable. The pictures really don’t do it justice, especially the view!!! The owner paid great attention to detail; the linens, Starbucks coffee, toiletries, finishes were all perfect. With regard to the location, there were a number of restaurants and bars right down the hill, as well as a supermarket, and the ferry to St. John. Most nights we ate dinner out, however, the kitchen and BBQ had everything you needed to cook at home if you were so inclined. I will definitely be returning soon!

This is a great rental that is very convenient and in a beautiful & peaceful location in Red Hook, St Thomas. I enjoyed my time at this villa and can't wait to return. It is in a perfect, relaxing location that is close to all one needs on this island paradise….just seconds from shopping, groceries, restaurants, drinks, the famous beaches and more. The walk down into Red Hook is really easy and I did the walk several times. I took full advantage of the nice glassware and appliances, including the full kitchen with full sized refrigerator (the ice-maker was key!). The entire apartment was very clean and well maintained! The views were amazingly scenic since the apartment is high up overlooking the east end of St Thomas and St John. Lounging in the hammock on the spacious porch you can watch the pleasure boats and yachts zig-zagging across the Caribbean sea. One major highlight is the outdoor pool which we had all to ourselves for plenty of sun and peaceful relaxation. The rooms were clean, nicely furnished, and well decorated. The location of the villa lends itself to being a great spot to explore St Thomas and even St John from, as it is just up the hill from the ferry docks to St John and Tortola. The best part, it is just a $15 taxi ride to the airport, 20 mins! I wish we could have stayed longer! I will definitely be back to this wonderful spot in the world and am happy to recommend it to my traveling community. I give it an A+ rating!

My husband and I vacationed for a week with another couple and were very pleased with the choice we made.
1. Location - Red Hook has a heartbeat and is where the ferry's run to a variety of islands. There are fabulous restaurants, grocery stores (with an amazing wine room), marina and little shops. Red Hook Dive Center is also located at the bottom of the hill which is where my husband did his qualifying dives for his Advanced OW. The dives are great, however, the center does cater to students so I advise that you check the level of divers that you get paired with on the boat to ensure that the diving is appropriate to your own qualifications - depth, location, type.
The accommodation is perched on a very steep hill that is easily walkable but not with groceries/after a long night out. The view is exactly as the images represent... gorgeous! Yes, the sun rises in the EAST so waking up to the rays over the bay is one of the many wow factors.
2. Amenities - The kitchen is very well equipped and we made breakfast every morning as well as dinner 4 of the 7 nights. The kitchen is smaller than it seems in the image but plenty of room for two to function well it at the same time. The brand new gas grill was great and even though we ran out of propane on the second day the property manager (who is likely the best that I have worked with) replaced the propane tank within hours. The en suite bathrooms are great and even come with hairdryers, soaps and mini shampoos and conditioner. The pool is a shared pool with 4 or so condo's and is not the responsibility of the property manager. There were leaves in the pool upon arrival and the lounge chairs were old, but if you expect resort service and a cabana boy... stay at a resort! Even though the only furniture on the generously sized veranda is a bar with 4 barstools, it is comfortable and accommodated many breakfasts, wine and cheese sunsets and dinners. The air-conditioning units in the rooms are window units, and one room's unit was very loud, however after a long day of exploring and relaxing the cool air was more important than a loud hum.
3. Management - The property manager is not only professional, personable, very responsive but genuinely nice! We inquire about favorite beaches, local restaurants, things to do and she was more than accommodating with advice.
Remember, this is someone's home that you are renting, not a hotel.
I would highly recommend this location.
Thank you for a great holiday.

We paid top dollar for this "Villa" and it was not worth a dime.
Even though the pictures did not match things like bedding and the rooms were stretched to look bigger, this was nothing compared to the real problems. Dirt...everywhere. On the kitchen counters, cabinet glass, wine glasses filthy, refrigerator was dirty and the ice dispenser was not useable because the ice was smelly. Sticky cabinet handles, sofa and table surfaces were thick with grit. Sofa pillows stained and old. Cobwebs and dust in the closet door louvers and all over the ceilings above the beds. Trash under the beds and the bedding was disgusting!
Mattress and box spring in one room was frayed, dirty and ripped at the seams, memory foam was rotting and stained, mattress pad and pillows were smelly and stained with sweat and (?). I couldn't see bedbugs but I was not 100% sure the bites on my legs were not bed bugs. The bed frame had a protruding corner which we all ran into repeatedly. I still have bruises from that. The drapes in each room were so old they were falling off the rings and didn't function. Plus its east facing so there was no sleeping after sunrise. Drapes were also water stained all across the bottom. And speaking of sleeping each morning we woke to the Red Hook ferries. Starting at 5:30 AM and every 1/2 hour they announced their departure with 3 super loud horn blasts. Enough to shake the room. (Not a fault of the owner but should be disclosed.)
Beware there is no true air conditioning. Just a couple very old, rusty, dirty (and yes) moldy window units in each bedroom. The view was the big selling point but all the windows were all dirty. The only deck furniture was a bar with 4 stools. They were all filthy. The grill was in such disrepair no one could use it. We did ask the property manager to get us a working grill which she did the same day. But why would you present us with a dirty old grill to begin with? I spent the first two hours of my vacation cleaning just so we could use the kitchen and sit on the crappy old furniture. The pool was dirty with leaves for 6 or our 8 days. There is not actual parking place except under a sign that says "Beware Falling Rocks".
A second call to the property manager about the bedding did result in a new mattress pad and 4 new pillows but that just put us closer to the flea bag mattress. I felt sickened knowing what we spent. If I could post pictures here I would.

My boyfriend and another couple traveled to St. Thomas for a nice, relaxing, but fun vacation. We couldn't have picked a better place to stay. First off, the property manager was very nice and extremely helpful. We had never been to the Caribbean and they gave us recommendations for day trips, restaurants, bars, beaches - everything you need. The property itself was amazing. The porch had amazing views that stretched the entire house so it could be seen from both bedrooms (aka, no fights over which bedroom was better lol). The house had everything we needed - we even stayed in a few times and cooked a nice meal. The house is perched up on a hill, at the bottom of the hill (an easy walk down) were some really fun bars, some nice restaurants, great beaches and even the ferry to St John. There are a lot of other cool things to do and see on the island but you have everything right there in Redhook if you don't want to travel around. In the end, we were very happy we chose this location and plan on staying there again next year!
