"This was our second visit to the hotel and again, we had a wonderful time. We stayed in Room 9 with our dog and 2 children which is a beautiful room. The staff again were lovely and Amir, the new manager, was very kind and friendly, ensuring always that we were having a great stay. We used the pool every morning and evening and was always warm. We love the hotel not only due to all of this but because it is in a great location to go off and explore Cornwall East, West and North. We will be back soon. "

"Staff on reception and cleaning lady were fantastic, two of the bar staff were not. The standard of food years ago wasn't very good, tried it again as the menu had changed and again still appalling.. found the peeling from onion mixed in with pulled pork, and the pulled pork was full of fat.. Sent it back and was given a madras as a replacement which was sent back again as it tasted like it come from a can, extremely bland and no heat at all.. very dissatisfied with the food since the Jamaican inn has been taken over by a chain.. Such a shame as the building and rooms are fantastic and in a good location."

"Despite being a dog-friendly hotel, it was clean. There were also no hairs whatsoever under rhe bedsheets on arrival. There was some wear and tear, such as a broken bedside table drawer which had been glued together poorly, some wear and tear in the bathroom, on wardrobes. The view over the sea was lovely, and the room was enormous (2 bunk beds and a king bed - sleep 6 room, we went as a couple with 2 young children). The room was quite quiet, it was warm. The hotel was very childfriendly for younger children, with multiple kids movies showing at the little cinema (we did not go as we have our own home projector setup and had seen all the movies showing), the pool looked nice, and there was a soft play area, plus some free games and paid pool table (£1/play). The breakfast food was okay, the vegan burger at the restaurant was nice. There's a lovely ice-cream shop not far - called Freddo's - it's a short 5 min drive/ 20 min walk on a nice weather day, with a very pleasant staff and delicious cornish ice creams. ChatGPT reccomended we go there and it didn't disappoint, and I make my own ice cream at home. I'd happily stay at this hotel again, despite not owning a dog, nor wanting to, so don't be put off by dogs, because Newquay in general is extremely dog-friendly anyway and you'll see loads everywhere. "

"Beautiful Hotel, the scenery is stunning, the only faults are in some of the rooms they have had to add on suites, however they are so small it’s difficult to even move in them, if you are a tall person you would not even be able to use the bathroom with the door shut, it’s a shame because otherwise everything was lovely."

"All the staff were very helpful and friendly from reception to spa to waiting staff, could not fault them. Also the food was really good, we ate in the more relaxed restaurant one night and it was lovely. Breakfast was always fresh and varied. We used the pool and spa but didn’t have any treatments. The area was always clean and well looked after and the pool was lovely and warm!"
