Fantastic getaway

We very much enjoyed our cabin stay at Laurel Haven. It was tucked away beautifully in the trees; it contained all we needed; rocking chairs on the porch were perfect on the rainy day; the new restaurant managers were friendly and the food was great and we felt very welcomed. We will return and tell our friends about the place!

Another visit to the Haven

Hello, I typically don't write reviews, but I thought you would be interested to hear this. We have been going to Laurel Haven for something like 5-7 years now, once a year. The location is great, and serene. Since our last visit, and times past we noticed that the cabin was especially clean this time -- which is nice. It was a surprise to me on my last day, that I scanned the checkout procedure. I find it rather problematic and a waste of my time that the customer would not only have to wash the dishes, but be the arbiter in cleanliness standards and put away the cleaned dishes. We all understand that dishwashers don't always quite cut it. In addition to that, the futon support is thoroughly broken. You can only sit on it in certain spots, otherwise your butt ends up next to the floor. And for years running now, the bed mattress springs(?) are broken on the edge closest to the bathroom. This renders about 1/4th of the bed unusable, otherwise your just rolling off the bed. Considering that the cost has increased so substantially and the reasons listed above, we are hesitating returning to Lydia for future events. Thanks, Ben

Overall experience

Over all the cabin was great. Enjoyed the privacy and yet a few minutes drive for dinning and shopping. Great location.

Cabin retreat

This was our second time at Lydia mountain cabins and it only gets better! The cabin is so cozy and in a remote spot we felt like we were in our own lil world. So grateful to have this in easy driving distance to be able to get away for a long weekend .. and just unplug

Our favorite so far!

This cabin was absolutely perfect. We come from Richmond every couple of months to reconnect and unwind. This is our favorite so far. Will absolutely rebook. *I would like to see the deck door latch looked at though*

Great Cabin

This is great for a get away. Cabin was clean and nice to sit on the front porch. The cabin is not directly on the road and has some privacy. I would stay here again.

Great Anniversary Weekend

I have been wanting to stay at Lydia Mountain for some time. I was thrilled to finally be able to and it didn’t disappoint. The cabin was perfect for a couple. We enjoyed our stay so much we are coming back for Mother’s Day but staying at the lodge this time.

Beautifully crafted cabin in a serene and secluded area. The cabin was clean with the exception of a few spider webs here and there and a couple spiders got trapped in the kitchen sink. Thankfully I’m not too scared of them and was able to set them free outside. Overall a great stay and I will definitely be coming back.

Cute and quiet cabin!

We really enjoyed our stay here! It was so quiet in the middle of the woods and we enjoyed just sitting on the deck. One thing, there were instructions or suggestions (e.g., “Make sure door is unlocked when going out to the deck”) on paper around the inside of the cabin, but they were very faded and should be replaced. Also, add a note about needing to close the dishwasher door “hard” to run it. We were not able to run the dishwasher because we didn’t shut the door hard enough but we didn’t want to break it either. 😊

Laurel Haven

Was an awesome experience!! Only issue we had was when we got there our code to get in the cabin wouldn’t work. We went to the lodge and finally found an after hours number to call and finally got a code to open the cabin door. Oh and evidently the hot water heater isn’t very big. You better shower fast!!
